Senior Backend & AI Engineer - Python

Job Title : Senior Backend & AI Engineer (On-Site, FastAPI Focus)

Location : On-Site (Full-Time)

Experience : 6-12+ years

Role Summary :

We are hiring a senior engineer to own backend and AI systems end-to-end, with a strong focus on FastAPI-based architectures and production AI systems.

This role is about building real-time systems that work reliably in production - not prototypes.

Core Responsibilities :

- Design and build high-performance backend systems using FastAPI

- Develop and deploy AI-powered services (LLMs, embeddings, inference pipelines)

- Build real-time systems (low latency APIs, streaming, async processing)

- Own full lifecycle :

i. Architecture

ii. Development

iii. Deployment

iv. Monitoring

v. Scaling

- Optimize systems for :

i. Latency

ii. Throughput

iii. Cost

- Build and maintain robust production infrastructure

- Handle failures, debug production issues, and ensure system stability

Must-Have Skills :

- Strong backend development using Python (FastAPI is mandatory)

- Deep understanding of :

i. Async programming

ii. Distributed systems

iii. Event-driven architectures

- Hands-on experience with :

i. AI/ML systems in production (LLMs, vector search, inference APIs)

ii. Model integration & optimization

- Experience building real-time systems (sub-second response systems)

- Strong database experience :

i. PostgreSQL / NoSQL

ii. Vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, etc.)

- Messaging & caching :

i. Kafka / Redis / queues

- Cloud & infra :

i. AWS / GCP / Azure

ii. Docker, Kubernetes

- CI/CD and deployment pipelines

Good to Have (Plus, Not Mandatory) :

- Node.js or other backend frameworks

- Experience with :

i. WebSockets / real-time communication

ii. Speech / video / streaming systems

iii. GPU optimization / model serving infra

- Frontend awareness (not required, but helpful)
