Position Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend / AI Integration Engineer with 10+ years of software engineering experience to design, develop, and integrate secure, scalable backend services and AI-powered capabilities. The role combines deep Java and Spring Boot expertise with practical knowledge of LLM integration, AI tool calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and AWS services.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.

- Build secure REST APIs and GraphQL services using Spring Security and established API design practices.

- Integrate LLM-powered capabilities into backend applications using prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and AI integration patterns.

- Apply Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts to connect AI models and agents with tools, services, and contextual data.

- Contribute to RAG-enabled workflows and AI agent architectures where appropriate.

- Design reliable, maintainable services using established design patterns and sound object-oriented principles.

- Handle multithreading, concurrency, performance tuning, and resource management in backend systems.

- Write automated unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito; participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.

- Build and manage application dependencies and build processes using Maven or Gradle.

- Deploy and operate backend and AI-integrated services on AWS using Lambda, API Gateway, Bedrock, IAM, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.

- Implement appropriate security, observability, error handling, logging, and secrets management for production workloads.

- Collaborate with architecture, product, cloud, and engineering teams to deliver secure and supportable solutions.

Required Technical Skills :

- 10+ years of professional software engineering or backend development experience.

- Strong proficiency in Java 17 or Java 21 and Spring Boot.

- Hands-on experience with Spring Security, REST API design, and GraphQL.

- Strong understanding of design patterns, object-oriented design, multithreading, and concurrency.

- Experience with Maven or Gradle for dependency and build management.

- Strong unit testing skills using JUnit and Mockito.

- Understanding of LLM fundamentals and prompt engineering.

- Knowledge of AI tool calling/function calling, MCP concepts, RAG fundamentals, and AI agent architecture.

- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, Bedrock, IAM, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.

- Strong debugging, problem-solving, code quality, and technical communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

- LangChain4j or Spring AI for Java-based LLM integration.

- Experience integrating OpenAI APIs or Anthropic APIs.

- Experience designing production-grade AI integrations with appropriate guardrails, failure handling, and observability.

- Experience applying RAG or agentic patterns in enterprise backend systems.
