Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Azure Python Developer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications and middleware services on Microsoft Azure. The role will involve building Python-based REST APIs and microservices, working with PostgreSQL, containerizing applications using Docker, deploying workloads on Kubernetes/AKS, and implementing robust CI/CD and monitoring practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based middleware, backend services, and microservices on Azure.

- Build scalable and secure RESTful APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent.

- Design and implement efficient data access and integration solutions using PostgreSQL.

- Develop modular, reusable, and maintainable microservices following cloud-native architecture principles.

- Containerize applications using Docker and deploy and manage workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, deployment, and release management.

- Monitor application performance, infrastructure health, logs, and operational metrics and proactively address issues.

- Troubleshoot application, API, database, deployment, integration, and infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Optimize application performance, API latency, resource utilization, and database queries.

- Implement secure coding practices, authentication/authorization, secrets management, and appropriate API security controls.

- Collaborate with DevOps, cloud, architecture, QA, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

- Participate in code reviews and establish development, testing, and engineering best practices.

- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, debugging, and developer productivity where appropriate.

- Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, runbooks, and operational standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 8 - 10 years of experience in software development, backend engineering, or cloud application development.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Python.

- Strong experience developing REST APIs and microservices.

- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application development.

- Strong experience with PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.

- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated testing, and deployment practices.

- Experience with application monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support.

- Strong understanding of secure application development and cloud security practices.

- Experience working with FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python frameworks.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

- Ability to independently own technical deliverables and work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
