Senior Azure Data Engineer - Healthcare Domain

Job Title : Azure Data Engineer Healthcare Domain.

Experience : 6+ Years (Healthcare experience preferred).

Location : Remote.

Duration : 6 Months Contract .

Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer with a strong background in healthcare data solutions to support our initial Azure cloud implementation. This role will focus on building secure, scalable, and HIPAA-compliant data infrastructure, ensuring robust platform and data connectivity security, and integrating multiple healthcare and financial systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Azure Environment Setup & Compliance :

- Configure the initial Azure environment in adherence to HIPAA, PHI, and PII compliance standards.

- Implement platform security measures, including encryption at rest and in transit, and port restrictions (allow only whitelisted IPs).

Data Connectivity & Security :

- Establish secure data connections, prioritizing API-based integrations.

- Implement encryption standards for data at rest and in transit.

- Design and configure a DMZ for secure non-API data transfers.

System & Application Integration :

- Collaborate with Health Samurai to install and configure their PostgreSQL platform.

- Set up a SQL Analytics Database in partnership with Health Samurai.

- Integrate QuickBooks Online data pipelines.

ETL & Data Pipelines :

Develop Azure Data Factory pipelines for :

- External client EHR/Billing Systems (with Health Samurai).

- QuickBooks Online.

BI & Analytics Enablement :

- Configure and link Excel Power Tools with SQL/PostgreSQL databases.

- Integrate Power BI with SQL/PostgreSQL databases for reporting and analytics.

Infrastructure Management :

- Spin up and configure a Windows 11 VM for operational requirements.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6+ years of experience as an Azure Data Engineer / Azure Developer.

- Strong knowledge of Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, SQL Database).

- Experience implementing HIPAA-compliant healthcare data solutions.

- Proficiency in platform security, data encryption, and API integrations.

- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

- Strong ETL development skills in Azure Data Factory.

- Experience with Power BI and Excel Power Tools integration.

- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online integration is a plus.

Preferred :

- Healthcare industry experience (EHR, PHI, PII data handling).

- Knowledge of Health Samurai systems.
