Senior Automation Test Engineer - Software Quality Assurance

Key Responsibilities :

QA Leadership & Strategy :

- Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing technical guidance, task allocation, and performance reviews.

- Define and implement QA strategies, test plans, and automation frameworks to ensure high product quality.

- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and create comprehensive test strategies.

- Drive continuous improvement in QA processes, tools, and best practices.

Test Automation (UI & API) :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress, Selenium, or similar UI automation frameworks.

- Develop scalable automation frameworks for regression, functional, and end-to-end testing.

- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.

- Troubleshoot automation issues and optimize execution for reliability and speed.

Manual Testing & Quality Ownership :

- Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing when required.

- Ensure test coverage by identifying test scenarios, writing test cases, and reviewing test artifacts.

- Conduct root cause analysis and work closely with engineering teams to resolve defects.

Collaboration & Delivery :

- Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.

- Provide clear and actionable QA reports, metrics, and dashboards on test execution and quality health.

- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases aligned with project timelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on expertise in UI automation tools : Cypress or Selenium (expert-level proficiency preferred).

- Experience in automation with JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python.

- Knowledge of API automation using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar.

- Experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.

- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, QA processes, and SDLC.

- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).

Professional Experience :

- 5 - 10 years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years in automation development.

- Prior experience leading or mentoring QA teams is strongly preferred.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
