Senior Automation Engineer - Telecom Testing

Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer with strong experience in the telecom domain to drive automation initiatives across network elements, OSS/BSS systems, test environments, and operational processes.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in telecom technologies combined with advanced automation skill sets.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for telecom applications, network systems, and test environments.

- Automate provisioning, configuration, validation, regression, and performance testing of network services.

- Develop automation scripts for OSS/BSS workflows, network operations, and troubleshooting.

- Integrate automation tools with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring platforms.

- Collaborate with network engineers, QA teams, and product owners to identify automation opportunities.

- Perform root cause analysis and optimize existing automation solutions for scalability and performance.

- Prepare technical documentation, reusable libraries, and automation reports.

- Ensure automation complies with telecom standards, SLAs, and security guidelines.

Required Skills :

Strong experience in telecom systems such as :

- 4G/5G, IMS, VoLTE, RAN, Core Networks, ORAN

- OSS/BSS and Network Management Systems (NMS)

Proficiency in automation and scripting using :

- Python / Shell / Perl / JavaScript

- Robot Framework / Selenium / PyTest / TestNG / Jenkins

- Experience with API automation (REST/SOAP) and web services.

- Hands-on understanding of network protocols : SIP, Diameter, SCTP, HTTP/2, TCP/IP, DNS.

Familiarity with cloud & virtualization :

- Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, VMware

- Experience with CI/CD tools : Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Maven.

- Working knowledge of telecom simulators, traffic generators, or automation tools (e.g., Spirent, IxNetwork, iTest).

Nice to Have :

- Experience with AI/ML-driven network operations (AIOps).

- Knowledge of Ansible / Terraform for infrastructure automation.

- Exposure to microservices and DevOps in telecom ecosystems.

- Certification(s) in telecom or cloud (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson, Cisco, AWS, Azure).

Qualification :

- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and debugging skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration.

- Ability to work in fast-paced telecom delivery environments.
