Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced API Automation Engineer with 6 - 8 years of experience in API testing and automation. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in designing automation frameworks, validating REST APIs, and working closely with development and QA teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain API automation test frameworks.

- Create and execute automated test scripts for REST APIs and web services.

- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end API testing.

- Validate API responses, status codes, request/response payloads, headers, and authentication mechanisms.

- Identify, analyze, and report defects with detailed technical information.

- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.

- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios.

- Maintain test documentation, automation reports, and test coverage.

- Contribute to improving automation frameworks, processes, and overall product quality.

Required Skills :

- 6 - 8 years of experience in API Testing & Automation.

- Strong hands-on experience with REST API testing.

- Proficiency in Java/Python or any scripting/programming language.

- Experience with Rest Assured, Postman, or similar API automation/testing tools.

- Good understanding of JSON, XML, HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and authentication.

- Strong knowledge of SQL and database validation.

- Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.

- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with Selenium or other UI automation tools.

- Experience in API performance testing.

- Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes and cloud environments.

- Experience with microservices architecture.

- Exposure to API mocking, service virtualization, and contract testing.

- Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch.

Candidate Profile :

- 6 - 8 years of relevant experience in API Automation Testing.

- Strong automation and programming skills.

- Candidates currently working with product-based companies are preferred.

- Ability to independently design and execute complex API automation scenarios.

- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
