Senior API Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement robust API automation frameworks using JavaScript and REST Assured.

- Perform API Testing across various HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE).

- Validate status codes, JSON response bodies, and ensure API contract compliance.

- Handle authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, Basic Auth, etc.).

- Create and execute End-to-End (E2E) test scenarios for complex workflows.

- Maintain and enhance regression test suites; troubleshoot and fix automation failures.

- Track and manage defects, and follow the complete Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and convert them into test scenarios.

- Work with version control systems like GitLab or GitHub for code management.

- Utilize tools such as ReadyAPI, Postman, SourceTree, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines for testing and reporting.

- Support Agile development processes with regular sprint deliverables and test planning.

- Ensure comprehensive API integration testing for REST and SOAP APIs.

- Automate tasks using PowerShell scripting where applicable.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7 to 9 years of experience in API Automation and Quality Engineering.

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and REST Assured for API automation.

- Experience with API integration testing (REST/SOAP).

- Good understanding of PowerShell scripting (4 to 6 years).

- Hands-on experience with Postman, ReadyAPI, and CI/CD tools.

- Solid experience with Git repositories and branching strategies.

- Exposure to Agile methodologies and scrum practices.

- Good understanding of the Defect Lifecycle, STLC, and Agile delivery models.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex API systems.

Nice to Have :

- Exposure to SourceTree for Git GUI operations.

- Working knowledge of SOAP UI, XML, and WSDL for SOAP service testing.

- Familiarity with cloud-based test execution platforms and containerized environments.
