Role : Sr. AlloyDB Engineer

Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. AlloyDB Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our database solutions, with a strong focus on Google Cloud's AlloyDB. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our data infrastructure, contributing to critical projects and integrating AlloyDB with a wide array of Google Cloud services.

Responsibilities :

Database Design and Architecture :

- Lead the design and architecture of robust and scalable database solutions using AlloyDB, ensuring alignment with project data requirements and overall system architecture.

- Develop and implement comprehensive database capacity planning and scalability strategies to support current and future business needs.

Performance Tuning and Optimization :

- Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve complex performance bottlenecks within AlloyDB databases.

- Expertly optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and storage utilization to enhance database efficiency and responsiveness.

Cloud Integration :

- Implement, configure, and manage AlloyDB instances and related services within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.

- Seamlessly integrate AlloyDB with other key GCP services, including BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow, to build comprehensive data pipelines and solutions.

Data Migration :

- Design and execute efficient data migration strategies, particularly those involving PostgreSQL to AlloyDB.

- Oversee the entire data migration lifecycle, ensuring data integrity, minimal downtime, and successful transitions.

Data Analytics :

- Collaborate with data analytics teams, leveraging your hands-on experience with BigQuery to support data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.

Basic Qualifications :

- 6+ years of experience in database engineering roles.

- 2-3 years of hands-on experience specifically with Google Cloud AlloyDB.

- Strong understanding of database design principles, data modeling, and normalization.

- Proficiency in SQL and experience with performance tuning complex queries.

- Familiarity with various data migration tools and methodologies.

- Experience working in a cloud-native environment, preferably GCP.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications in Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Database Engineer).

- Experience with other PostgreSQL-compatible databases.

- Knowledge of DevOps practices and database automation.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
