We are seeking a highly experienced and specialized Security Services Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team on a contract basis in Edinburgh.

This senior role requires 10+ years of dedicated experience and demands deep expertise across the full spectrum of Securities Operations, with a mandatory focus on Reference and Master Data management.

You will be instrumental in defining data governance, driving straight-through processing (STP), and ensuring regulatory alignment across critical trading and custody platforms.

Key Responsibilities & Domain Deliverables :

1.Securities Operations & Master Data Expertise :

- Domain SME : Provide deep subject-matter expertise across all core Securities Operations functions, including Custody, Fund Services, Settlements, Corporate Actions, Pricing, and Asset Servicing.

- Master Data Focus (Mandatory) : Serve as the technical and operational authority on Reference and Master Data, specializing in defining complex instrument, client, and account structures.

- Data Strategy : Define and document necessary data models, hierarchies, and integration points across trading, settlement, and custody systems.

Governance, Quality & Efficiency :

- Remediation & Standardization : Lead initiatives for data remediation, standardization, and migration projects, ensuring data integrity and consistency across platforms.

- Quality Frameworks : Establish and enforce robust data quality frameworks (DQF) and standards to monitor and improve data accuracy.

- Data Lineage : Analyze and document complex data lineage and dependencies to fully understand impact and risk across the system landscape.

- STP : Actively drive Straight-Through Processing (STP) initiatives by optimizing operational workflows and resolving data breaks.

Regulatory Alignment & Project Support :

- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure operational processes and data standards are strictly aligned with key industry regulations, including MiFID II, CSDR, and SFTR.

- Governance Representation : Represent Securities Operations in various governance forums, providing expert input on data impact and operational feasibility.

- Project Lifecycle : Support the full project lifecycle, including preparing for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), creating detailed operational documentation, and conducting specialist training.

Required Skills & Experience Summary :

- Domain Expertise : 10+ years in Securities Operations.

- Data Management (Mandatory) : Mandatory expertise in Reference & Master Data, focusing on instrument, client, and account structures.

- Technical Fluency : Working knowledge and exposure to SQL for data analysis and validation.

- Stakeholder Management : Proven experience managing complex stakeholder management across operations, technology, and compliance.

Preferred / Nice to Have :

- Experience with industry-leading Master Data Management (MDM) platforms such as GoldenSource, Bloomberg EDM, Markit, or SmartStream.

- Direct experience or exposure to regulatory reporting processes
