Role: SDET Engineer
Experience: 5-10 years
Location: Indore, Pune, Bangalore
About the Role:
We are seeking an SDET with 5 to 10 years of experience to build realistic macOS-based workloads, develop automated test suites, and debug low-level system issues across macOS clients, file-protocol stacks, servers, and networks. You will design robust automation frameworks, improve code coverage, and ensure high reliability for file operations and distributed storage systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and integrate automated tests and workload generators for NFS and SMB workflows using Python and pytest into CI/CD pipelines.
- Design test scenarios covering file operations, concurrency, failure recovery, reconnects, failovers, and error-handling conditions.
- Investigate, debug, and resolve failures across clients, protocol implementations, servers, and test environments using logs, traces, and packet captures.
- Analyze code coverage to identify gaps and create targeted regression tests for untested branches and boundary conditions.
- Improve test stability, eliminate flaky tests, and document macOS-specific file behaviors and troubleshooting procedures.
Tech Stack & Requirements:
- Strong programming ability in Python and hands-on test framework experience using pytest.
- Solid understanding of macOS and Linux/Unix environments, file systems, TCP/IP, client-server architectures, and storage systems.
- Practical knowledge or exposure to NFS and SMB file protocols, permissions, authentication, and file locking.
- Proven debugging expertise using system utilities, packet captures, traces, core dumps, and log analysis.
- Familiarity with Git, CI pipelines, code reviews, defect tracking tools, and code-coverage analysis.
Why you will love this role:
- Work on complex, hands-on systems testing and automation rather than manual test execution.
- Flexible hybrid work environment offering 3 days work-from-office across key tech hubs (Indore, Pune, Bangalore).
- Competitive compensation package ranging from 3038 LPA.
