Scrum Lead - Technology (Agile Coaching & Value Optimization)

Role Overview :

The Scrum Lead - Technology is a critical coaching and leadership role requiring 4+ years of relevant work experience in an agile environment and proven experience coaching agile methodologies to teams and stakeholders.

The incumbent will focus on optimizing the flow of value, cultivating continuous improvement, and enabling teams to practice Professional Scrum and other agility frameworks.

This role requires strong skills in servant leadership, conflict resolution, and promoting transparency across the organization.

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Lead (4+ years experience) with a strong background in agile coaching, servant leadership, and driving value optimization.

The ideal candidate will mentor teams in Professional Scrum, facilitate continuous learning and experimentation, and coach Product Owners on maintaining a healthy Product Backlog.

Key technical requirements include a basic understanding of infrastructure concepts (cloud, networking, IT ops), proficiency in tracking performance metrics (MTTR, deployment frequency), and experience with work item management tools like Azure DevOps Boards and ServiceNow. Recognized Scrum certification (CSM/PSM/SSM) and ITIL certification are highly preferred.

Agile Coaching and Value Flow Optimization :

- Optimize the flow of value from the generation of ideas through to the release, actively working to eliminate or reduce rework and process waste.

- Coach your team(s) to understand (the why) and practice new ways of working, enabling them to practice Professional Scrum and frameworks like Kanban or Scrumban to manage unpredictable tasks.

- Cultivate a habit of continuous learning (from retrospectives, etc.), continuous experimentation, and continuous improvement to achieve a high-performing state.

- Coach Product Owners / Managers with techniques for establishing empirical product planning and maintaining a healthy Product Backlog.

Impediment Removal and Transparency:

- Promote transparency on barriers to change, progress, and actively remove or seek assistance in addressing impediments and opportunities at the organizational level.

- Maintain, share, and promote information radiators that enable inspection and adaptation across teams and stakeholders.

Technical and Tool Proficiency:

- Leverage Infrastructure Knowledge demonstrating a basic understanding of key infrastructure concepts, including virtualization, cloud platforms, networking, and IT operations.

- Be Proficient in tracking and reporting on critical metrics such as system uptime, mean time to recovery (MTTR), deployment frequency, and incident resolution times.

- Utilize Work Item Management Tools like Azure DevOps Boards for organizing, managing, and visualizing team work items.

- Demonstrate ServiceNow Proficiency for managing workflows and operational tasks.

Leadership and Team Empowerment:

- Serve as internal trainers contributing to the learning and development of one or more team(s).

- Coach teams to self-organize and facilitate events, such as planning, review, and retrospectives, as necessary.

- Apply Skills and knowledge of servant leadership, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- Experience: 4+ years of relevant work experience in an agile environment.

- Coaching: Experience coaching agile methodologies to team and stakeholders.

- Leadership: Skills and knowledge of servant leadership, situational awareness, conflict resolution, and continual improvement.

- Soft Skills: Proven ability to promote a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally.

Preferred Skills

- Certification: Hold a recognized Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, or SAFe Scrum Master).

- Frameworks: Strong experience in using Agile frameworks such as Kanban or Scrumban.

- ITSM: ITIL 4 Certification is highly desirable.

- DevOps: Demonstrated experience with continuous integration / delivery and driving adoption of Agile methodologies.

- Metrics: Proficient in tracking and reporting on critical Performance Metrics (MTTR, deployment frequency, etc.).
