As Head of Engineering, you will be the technical founder at scale, owning our entire technology function. You'll lead architecture, systems design, data strategy, and security across a wide surface area including open banking, card processing, investments, insurance, and embedded finance.

Youll work alongside the CEO and COO to shape the future of money in the region, while building a world-class engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities :

Technology & Architecture :

- Own the end-to-end technical architecture, infrastructure, and platform scalability.

- Guide technical decisions across savings, wealth, insurance, cards, and fraud/risk systems.

- Drive robust, modular, and secure systems to support regulatory requirements (DFSA, SAMA, etc.).

Engineering Leadership :

- Lead and scale a distributed team of engineers (currently 10), instilling a culture of quality, velocity, and ownership.

- Mentor engineering leads and ensure hiring, performance management, and team design align with growth.

Strategic Product Partnership :

- Work closely with Product, Data, and Compliance to ship user-centric, scalable fintech products.

- Ensure tech strategy aligns with company goalse.g., launching investments, embedded insurance, and open banking-based automation.

Infrastructure, DevOps & Security :

- Oversee DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), ensuring uptime, scalability, and cost efficiency.

- Lead secure-by-design practices, periodic audits, and regulatory tech readiness.

Data & AI Enablement :

- Drive platform capabilities in data infrastructure and AIespecially for spend analysis, fraud detection, and credit insights.

- Build a modern data stack to power ML and analytics use cases across the app.

You Might Be a Fit If You :

- Have 8-12+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in a senior leadership or HOE role.

- Built or scaled tech in regulated FinTechsespecially across payments, savings, lending, insurance, or investments.

- Are deeply hands-on with system design, API architecture, security protocols, and scaling infrastructure.

- Have in-depth knowledge of NodeJS based backend systems

- Have experience leading lean, high-performance engineering teams across time zones.

- Are fluent in tradeoffs between speed, security, scale, and compliance.

- Thrive in zero-to-one and one-to-ten phases and have worked closely with founders and investors.

- Bonus : Experience with open banking APIs, PCI-DSS/SOC2, UAE/KSA regulatory landscapes.
