About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented SAS Developer to join our team and support critical data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SAS programming, along with working knowledge of SQL and C#, and a passion for resolving complex data issues. This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of our data extract processes by reviewing, debugging, and enhancing existing SAS codebases.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze and Refactor SAS Code : Review existing SAS data extraction and transformation scripts for completeness, efficiency, and correctness. Identify problem areas and recode broken or underperforming segments.

- Troubleshooting & Debugging : Resolve issues in SAS jobs related to performance bottlenecks, logic errors, and data integrity problems.

- Collaboration with Stakeholders : Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and business units to ensure the SAS programs align with business requirements and generate accurate outputs.

- Documentation & Audit Trails : Create clear documentation for any changes, including logic explanations, data flows, and impact analysis. Maintain proper records for audit and future maintenance.

- Optimization & Best Practices : Recommend improvements to SAS processes for better performance, maintainability, and scalability. Contribute to the adoption of best practices in SAS development and data handling.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Primary Skills :

- Strong experience with data extraction, transformation, and reporting using SAS

Additional Skills :

- Working knowledge of C#, especially for integration or scripting tasks

- Ability to retrieve, interpret, and recode large or broken data sets efficiently

Professional Attributes :

- Experience working in data-heavy environments and collaborating with QA and business stakeholders

- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of deliverables

- Excellent analytical and communication skills
