Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on expertise in MySQL and MongoDB. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database maintenance, security, upgrades, performance tuning, monitoring, and recovery, while managing mid to large-scale projects.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide scalable and high-performance database solutions and bring analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving abilities to a dynamic, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Administration & Maintenance :

- Manage end-to-end administration of MySQL and MongoDB databases.

- Perform routine maintenance tasks including daily, weekly, and monthly database health checks.

- Oversee database upgrades, migrations (including cloud migration), patching, and version management.

Performance Tuning & Optimization :

- Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, access paths, and schema structures.

- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and conduct root-cause analysis for database-related issues.

- Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and resource utilization.

Security, Backup & Recovery :

- Implement and maintain database security, permissions, access control, and encryption.

- Manage backup strategies including clustering, mirroring, replication, and failover mechanisms.

- Execute disaster recovery procedures, data restorations, and ensure high availability.

Architecture, Development & Automation :

- Design and document reliable, scalable database architectures.

- Build and support complete database schemas and data models (logical & physical).

- Develop database utilities, automated scripts, and reporting systems.

- Support data imports/exports and develop automated database-related workflows.

Monitoring & Operations :

- Ensure 24/7 availability of systems and respond to production issues promptly.

- Monitor systems/platforms for high availability, stability, and performance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution and client requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-Have) :

- Strong experience with MySQL administration and performance tuning.

- MongoDB expertise (mandatory).

- Proficiency in logical and physical data modeling.

- Strong skills in crafting SQL queries, indexes, and explaining execution/access paths.

- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.

- Hands-on experience with upgrading/migrating databases, including cloud environments.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex Oracle instance/SQL performance issues.

- Strong database management skills including imports, exports, reporting, and schema design.

- Solid understanding of database security principles, encryption, and access control.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

- Intermediate understanding of hardware and networking.

- Experience in multi-database environments and adaptability to varied roles.

- Scripting/coding experience with Unix Shell, Python, or Ruby.

- Experience with 24/7 support, backup/recovery strategies, and HA/DR setups.

- Additional experience with MongoDB (if not primary) is a plus.
