SAP TM Consultant

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP TM (Transportation Management) Consultant with deep hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA TM, Transportation Planning & Execution, and Logistics Master Data (LMD). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, optimizing, and supporting end-to-end transportation and logistics processes within the SAP landscape.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver scalable, efficient, and high-performing transportation management solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

1. SAP TM Solution Design & Implementation :

- Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of SAP Transportation Management (TM) solutions across planning, execution, and settlement. Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into robust SAP TM functional specifications.

- Design end-to-end TM processes including : Freight Order Management Transportation Planning Carrier Selection & Tendering Freight Settlement & Cost Distribution Charge Calculation & Rate Tables Dangerous Goods Handling (if applicable)

- Integrate SAP TM with other SAP modules (MM, SD, LE, EWM, GTS, FI/CO) and external logistics systems.

2. S/4HANA TM & Logistics Master Data (LMD) :

- Expertise Configure and maintain key TM master data elements: Transportation Lanes Locations & Zones Carriers, Resources & Scheduling Data Freight Agreements & Rate Tables

- Implement SAP S/4HANA TM features such as simplified data model, Fiori apps, and embedded TM functionality.

- Manage integration scenarios with Logistics Master Data and Supply Chain modules.

3. System Configuration & Functional Documentation :

- Develop FS/BRD, process flows, configuration documents, test cases, and training materials.

- Perform system configuration, unit testing, SIT, UAT, and support cutover activities.

4. Integration & Technical Coordination :

- Coordinate with ABAP teams for enhancements, workflows, BOPF changes, and custom developments.

- Work extensively with middleware (SAP PI/PO, CPI) teams for interface setup and troubleshooting.

- Ensure seamless integration of TM with EDI, freight carriers, TMS, and WMS systems.

5. Support & Continuous Improvement :

- Lead production support for TM processes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

- Troubleshoot issues related to planning, execution, settlement, and master data.

- Proactively identify process gaps, optimization opportunities, and system improvements.

Required Skills & Expertise :

Technical Skills Mandatory :

- Deep hands-on experience in SAP TM on S/4HANA (Embedded TM preferred).

- Strong understanding of Transportation Planning, Execution, Freight Settlement.

- Experience with Logistics Master Data (LMD) configuration.

- Expertise in charge calculation, freight agreements, and rate management.

- Knowledge of integration with SAP SD, MM, LE, EWM and third-party logistics systems.

Good to Have :

- Experience with SAP CPI / PI-PO integrations.

- Exposure to BOPF enhancements, PPF actions, and BRF+.

- Understanding of advanced TM capabilities (optimizer, VSR, transportation cockpit).

Functional Skills :

- Strong process understanding of end-to-end Order-to-Cash and Logistics Execution cycles.

- Ability to map complex business scenarios into SAP TM solutions.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
