SAP Technical Consultant - Basis/BTP Module

SAP Technical Consultant (SAP Basis/SAP BTP) is an SME in the SAP Technology space. He/she will have deep knowledge of the Shell IT infrastructure setup and will drive the integration of the new system/platform into Shell's IT landscape. This includes knowledge of SAP technology, infrastructure requirements, authentication protocols, network dependencies, and other necessary integration requirements.

For the application or technology being developed / deployed, the Technical Consultant typically performs the following :

- Analysis of and at times, support in developing the Technical Design

- Advising the Technical Configuration of Cloud and On Premises based solutions

- Working with Business Analysts and Architects to translate Requirements into Technical Design Specifications

- Works with the Technical Lead, Architects and Business IT on providing specific consultancy service to enable delivery of SAP projects based on new SAP technologies.

- Work closely with functional teams on integrations, upgrades, migration requirement of traditional SAP solutions.

- Good knowledge on various aspects of SAP workload management.

- Good knowledge on SAP Enterprise Solution Manager.

- Work closely with the SAP Programme to implement various SAP technologies (SAP BTP, CPI, cloud identity services, BTP HANA Cloud, Solution Manager Focused Build, FRUN, S/4HANA Cloud, SAP on Azure, etc.) across projects.

- Develops and uphold Best practices, standards and SAP technical solution level quality across the projects worked on.

- Supports the Technical Lead and the Architects in technical details, so that new SAP technologies can be planned & implemented across the business consistently.

- Provides technical advisory in addressing technical issues and where required, implement the technical design in SAP projects.

- Provides technical advisory to SOM on resolution of SAP technical issues in ongoing projects such as SAPS/4 HANA, BTP, Integration, NetWeaver, Secure Network Communication, SAPGUI, SAP Upgrades, Migrations etc.

- Able to contribute to the technical design and implementation of SAP systems in Shell.

- Works with project management and SAP AG to resolve technical issues that are impeding the plan to implement & adopt new SAP technologies in Shell.

- Comply with all Information Risk Management accountabilities

Special Challenges :

- Need to work across organization boundaries alongside multiple stakeholders which include architects, delivery teams, and infrastructure providers to ensure alignment on the adoption of new SAP technologies, standards and best practices in Shell.

- Actively stay abreast of SAP technological advancement as they evolve and apply them as needed in Shell.

- Stay connected with external network to acquire best practices that could be adopted in Shell.

- Be part of a sustainable pool of SAP technical expertise that ensure Shell has the ability to manage its complex SAP landscape.

Skills & Requirements :

- Extensive technical delivery experience in SAP projects

- Experience in developing and implementing SAP technical standards & processes

- Good knowledge in the following technology areas :

1. SAP Business Technology Platform Architecture

2. SAP ECC6 & S/4 HANA

3. SAP Solution Manager/ FRUN

4. SAP Cloud ALM is a plus

5. SAP Agility & PaaS

6. SAP Integration

7. SAP on Hyperscalers

8. SAP on Azure.

9. SAP Cloud Solutions

10. SAPGUI, SNC and other common SAP Basis areas

11. SAP BTP (CPI/Integration suite)- Skill is added advantage.

12. SAP BTP Cloud Identity service skill is added advantage.

- Good stakeholder management skills and ability to contribute technically to multiple ongoing projects.

- Ability to work with virtual teams and across diverse cultures to deliver results.

- Conversant in English, spoken and written, with proven communication and interpersonal skills.

- Substantial experience consulting, problem management
