Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced SAP Support Specialist to join our in-house IT department within a leading manufacturing organisation. The ideal candidate will combine in-depth process knowledge, hands-on SAP configuration expertise, and strong troubleshooting capabilities to provide high-quality SAP support services. This role focuses on managing Level 1 and Level 2 support activities for SAP systems and collaborating closely with business users to optimise processes - but it is not an SAP end-user role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 SAP support for functional issues, ensuring timely resolution of incidents in line with agreed SLAs.
- Perform hands-on configuration across relevant SAP modules to meet evolving business needs in the manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with finance, supply chain, production, and other functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.
- Troubleshoot integration issues between SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP, CO, FI) and propose effective fixes or enhancements.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and recommend process improvements or preventive measures.
- Participate in system testing, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing for configuration changes and system updates.
- Work closely with SAP Basis and external consultants for escalated issues or advanced configurations.
- Maintain clear documentation of configuration changes, functional specifications, and support procedures.
- Support month-end and year-end processes in collaboration with the relevant business teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3- 5 years of SAP experience within the IT department of a manufacturing company.
- Proven SAP configuration skills in at least one core module (MM, SD, PP, FI, or CO) with exposure to others.
- Strong process knowledge in manufacturing-related business cycles (procurement, production planning, sales order management, costing, etc.).
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and experience handling integration issues.
- Ability to manage L1 and L2 SAP support tickets independently.
- Effective communication skills for working across technical and business teams.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Fiori applications.
- Familiarity with transport management and change request handling.
- Exposure to manufacturing KPIs and process optimisation projects.
