SAP Security Consultant

Key Responsibilities :

SAP Security Design & Implementation :

- Design, configure, and implement comprehensive SAP authorization roles and profiles across SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, and other SAP applications (e.g., CRM, SRM, HCM).

- Develop and implement security concepts for new SAP functionalities, including Fiori applications and S/4HANA embedded analytics.

- Manage user master records, security groups, and password policies.

- Configure and maintain security for various SAP interfaces and integration points.

Role Design & Administration :

- Perform role redesign and optimization, ensuring adherence to the principle of least privilege.

- Utilize PFCG (Profile Generator) effectively for role creation, modification, and assignment.

- Conduct Segregation of Duties (SoD) analysis during role design to minimize conflicts.

Security Audits & Compliance :

- Support internal and external security audits by providing necessary security documentation, configuration analysis, and audit trail reports.

- Ensure SAP security configurations comply with internal security policies, industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX).

- Assist in identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities within SAP systems.

Troubleshooting & Support :

- Provide expert-level support for complex SAP security incidents, authorization issues, and user access problems.

- Perform root cause analysis for security-related issues and implement effective resolutions.

- Support periodic security reviews and health checks of SAP systems.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer :

- Create and maintain detailed security design documents, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical specifications.

- Provide knowledge transfer and training to less experienced team members and client personnel.

Collaboration :

- Collaborate effectively with project managers, functional consultants, BASIS teams, and business stakeholders to align security solutions with project goals and business needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience : 5 - 6 years of dedicated experience in SAP Security implementation, design, and support.

SAP Security Core : Strong hands-on experience with SAP authorization concepts, role-based access control (RBAC), and PFCG.

System Experience : Proven experience with security configurations across multiple SAP modules and systems, including SAP ECC and S/4HANA. Experience with SAP BW security is highly desirable.

SoD & GRC (Conceptual) : Solid understanding of Segregation of Duties (SoD) principles. Exposure to SAP GRC Access Control concepts (ARA, ARM, EAM) is a plus.

Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to security troubleshooting.

Technical Tools : Familiarity with SAP security tools and transactions (e.g., SU01, PFCG, SU24, SU53, SM20, ST01).

Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex security issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certifications (Nice to Have) : SAP Certified Technology Associate SAP S/4HANA System Administration, or other relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+).

Nice to Have :

- Experience with SAP Fiori security configuration and troubleshooting.

- Knowledge of SAP HANA database security.

- Exposure to cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) as they relate to SAP.

- Understanding of industry security frameworks like ISO 27001 or NIST.
