SAP SD Application Lead

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) Application Lead to oversee solution design, delivery, and integration of SAP SD within complex enterprise environments.

This role requires strong expertise in SAP SD processes, integration knowledge across SAP modules, leadership capabilities, and the ability to align technical solutions with evolving business requirements.

The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), guiding teams, ensuring high-quality delivery, and enabling digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Solution Ownership : Act as the SME for SAP SD processes including order-to-cash, pricing, invoicing, shipping, credit management, rebates, and returns.

- Integration Leadership : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of SD with FI/CO, MM, PP, WM, and other SAP modules.

- Application Design & Development : Lead the design and configuration of SAP SD solutions, ensuring scalability, compliance, and alignment with industry best practices.

- Business Requirement Translation : Work closely with stakeholders to capture business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

- Project Delivery : Manage end-to-end delivery of SAP SD modules including solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

- Decision Making : Provide expert guidance and make critical project decisions to ensure timely achievement of milestones.

- Team Leadership : Mentor and guide functional consultants and technical teams, fostering knowledge sharing and capability building.

- Training & Enablement : Conduct training sessions, prepare functional documentation, and support knowledge transition to business users and support teams.

- Quality & Compliance : Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, governance standards, and audit/compliance requirements.

- Stakeholder Collaboration : Partner with business leaders, architects, and delivery managers to ensure solutions deliver measurable business outcomes.

Professional & Technical Skills :

- Core Expertise : Deep functional knowledge of SAP SD including pricing, order management, billing, logistics execution, partner determination, and output determination.

- Integration Knowledge : Strong understanding of SAP integration points with FI/CO (revenue recognition, account determination), MM (procure-to-pay, third-party orders), PP (production orders), and WM (warehouse management).

- Technical Acumen : Hands-on experience in configuration, user exits, enhancements, and working knowledge of ABAP debugging for issue resolution.

- Solution Design : Proven ability to design end-to-end SD processes aligned with global templates, localization, and custom requirements.

- Project Management : Familiarity with SAP project methodologies (ASAP, Activate) and ability to manage project deliverables, risks, and resources.

- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex functional and technical issues.

- Communication : Excellent stakeholder communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.

Desired Attributes :

- Experience in S/4HANA migration or greenfield/brownfield implementation projects.

- Exposure to SAP Fiori Apps and digital innovations within the SD module.

- Ability to work in agile/hybrid delivery models.

- Strong leadership presence with the capability to influence and drive performance
