SAP PP Consultant - Implementation & Support

Experience : 7 -10 yrs

Location : Chennai

1. Role Summary :

We are looking for an experienced SAP PP (Production Planning) Consultant with around 7 years of hands-on functional experience in ECC or S/4HANA.

The consultant will be responsible for requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and production support across discrete/process manufacturing environments.

2. Key Responsibilities :

Core Functional Responsibilities :

- Work Centers & Routing

- BOM (Bill of Materials) & Master Recipes

- Production Orders & Process Orders

- Capacity Planning

- Demand Management (PIRs)

- Shop Floor Execution

- Handle end-to-end PP cycle: planning ? execution ? confirmation ? settlement

- Create & maintain Planning Strategies (Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, ETO, etc.)

- Configure Production Versions, Batch Management & Serial Numbering

- Set up & troubleshoot : Order types

- Scheduling parameters

- Backflushing

- Automatic goods movements

- Availability checks

Integration Responsibilities :

- MM (material master, procurement, split valuation)

- SD (ATP, delivery relevance)

- QM (inspection lots, in-process quality)

- FI/CO (order settlement, cost collectors)

- PM (maintenance BOMs)

Project Responsibilities :

- Prepare Functional Specifications for RICEFW.

- Work with ABAP team for enhancements, user exits, BADIs, custom reports.

- Execute Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, Cutover & Go-Live activities.

- Provide hypercare & production support.

- Prepare SOPs, configuration documents, training materials.

3. Mandatory Skills & Experience :

- 7+ years SAP PP hands-on configuration experience.

- Minimum 1 end-to-end implementation & multiple support projects.

- Strong knowledge of MRP, BOM management, Routing/Recipe configuration.

- Experience in Long-term Planning (LTP), Capacity Planning, Backflush.

- Exposure to S/4HANA PP, MRP Live, Fiori apps.

- Ability to resolve production order issues, confirmations, costing issues.

- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.

4. Good to Have (Preferred) :

- Knowledge of PP-PI (Process Industries).

- Experience in APO/IBP demand or supply planning.

- Knowledge of MES integration.

- Understanding of EWM integration (staging, production supply).

- Basic hands-on with QM and PM.

- Experience with Master Data Governance (MDG).

5. Soft Skills :

- Excellent communication & client-facing skills.

- Ability to drive workshops independently.

- Good documentation and presentation skills.

- Ability to work cross-functionally with business users & technical teams.

- Proactive, ownership-driven, and strong team player.

6. Education & Certification :

- Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology/MBA.

- SAP PP Certification is a plus
