Job Description

Role Overview :


We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Materials Management (MM) Consultant with deep expertise in procurement, purchasing, vendor management, and inventory processes. The consultant will play a key role in implementing, configuring, and optimizing SAP MM solutions, ensuring seamless integration with related modules, and driving operational efficiency across the supply chain. This role demands a strong blend of functional expertise, process optimization knowledge, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver high-quality SAP solutions.


Key Responsibilities :


SAP MM Functional Expertise :


- Design, configure, and implement SAP Materials Management (MM) processes, focusing on Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Vendor Management.


- Ensure effective integration of SAP MM with other modules such as FI/CO, SD, and PP.


- Support end-to-end procurement processes including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipts, invoice verification, and contract management.

Process Analysis & Optimization :


- Analyze existing business workflows and identify areas of improvement within procurement and supply chain processes.


- Develop and implement optimized solutions for purchasing, material planning, and vendor contract management.


- Enhance automation of routine procurement tasks and improve compliance with purchasing policies.


Implementation & Support :


- Lead or support full-cycle SAP MM implementation and rollout projects, from requirements gathering to post-go-live support.


- Provide expertise in SAP MM configuration, testing, data migration, and system upgrades.


- Deliver user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to ensure smooth adoption of SAP MM solutions.


Vendor & Contract Management :


- Support effective vendor evaluation, selection, and relationship management through SAP MM functionalities.


- Configure and streamline contract negotiation, pricing agreements, and purchasing strategies in alignment with business needs.

Stakeholder Collaboration :


- Work closely with procurement, supply chain, finance, and IT teams to align business requirements with system capabilities.


- Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring SAP solutions meet both operational and strategic goals.


Required Skills & Qualifications :


Technical & Functional Skills :


- Proficiency in SAP Purchasing (MM-PUR), Inventory Management (MM-IM), and Vendor Management.


- Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes in manufacturing, retail, or services industries.


- Hands-on experience in SAP MM configuration, customization, and integration with other SAP modules.


- Ability to work with data migration tools, testing frameworks, and solution documentation.


- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA procurement processes is highly desirable.

Domain Knowledge :


- Solid understanding of procurement workflows, purchasing strategies, inventory control, and contract negotiation practices.


- Experience with strategic sourcing and supplier collaboration tools within SAP.

Professional Attributes :


- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on business outcomes.


- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.


- Ability to work in global project environments and support multi-location implementations.


Educational Background :


- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or Information Technology.


SAP MM certification preferred.
