Role Purpose :
We are seeking an experienced SAP IS Retail Lead with S4 HANA expertise to join our Corporate Applications team. The role involves designing, configuring, and deploying SAP Retail functionalities, ensuring seamless integration and successful implementation. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in SAP SD/MM and IS Retail, with proven expertise in handling large-scale SAP implementation and support projects.
Key Accountabilities & Decision Ownership :
- Lead the implementation of SAP IT solutions aligned with business requirements and standards.
- Configure and develop SAP IS Retail functionalities with integrations across legacy systems.
- Provide expertise in SAP SD/MM modules within a retail environment.
- Execute data migration activities from legacy systems to S4 HANA.
- Deliver detailed solution designs, ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Identify and drive continuous improvements within IT systems and processes.
- Support solution architecture reviews by evaluating alternative technologies.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently.
Core Competencies, Knowledge & Experience :
- SAP IS Retail (S4 HANA) : Minimum 5+ years of hands-on IS Retail implementation and support experience with knowledge of Merchandising, Assortment, Listing, and Pricing.
- SAP SD/MM Expertise : At least 10+ years in SAP SD/MM consulting, configuration, and implementation.
Solid understanding of :
- Simple SCM in S4 HANA
- Billing, Sales Orders, Deliveries, SD Master Data
- Goods Issue, Batch Management
- Experience with WM/EWM modules is a strong plus.
- Prior exposure to S4 HANA transformation/implementation projects.
- Proven Project Management experience, preferably certified in PMP / PRINCE2 / APIC.
Required Qualifications & Skills :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of SAP SD/MM + IS Retail support, maintenance, and implementation experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Position Overview :
The SAP IS Retail Lead will spearhead design, implementation, and optimization of SAP IS Retail (including S/4HANA) solutions tailored for retail operations. This role spans end-to-end deliverybridging strategy, configuration, testing, stakeholder management, and post-go-live support. It requires both leadership acumen and deep functional expertise.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Strategic Leadership & Project Delivery :
- Lead full project lifecycle : blueprinting, configuration, testing, rollout, stabilization, and continuous improvement.
- Shape a Center of Excellence (CoE) for governance, standards, and scalable implementation practices.
- Develop strategic roadmaps for global or regional rollouts, focusing on business value and technical excellence.
2. Functional Design & Configuration :
- Lead configuration across SAP IS Retail, covering Pricing, Promotions, ASSORTMENTS, Master Data, POS interfaces, Merchandise logistics, MD planning, etc.
- Ensure seamless integration with POS systems (POSDM, PIPE), E commerce platforms, warehouses, third-party systems, and BI layers.
- Configure and design interfaces such as ALE/IDocs, EDI, BAPI, Web Services, workflows, and custom enhancements.
3. Testing & Quality Assurance :
- Develop and execute test strategiesunit, integration, regression, user acceptance testing.
- Document and validate functional specifications, test scripts, and ensure defect mitigation.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Training :
- Conduct workshops, blueprint sessions, and maintain active liaison between business, IT, and third-party stakeholders.
- Provide end-user training, documentation (user manuals, master data guides), and cutover support.
5. Post Go Live & Continuous Improvement :
- Offer robust post go live stabilization and support and ensure processes evolve based on feedback.
- Identify optimization opportunities and deliver enhancements aligned with evolving business and technological trends.
6. Team & Vendor Coordination :
- Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams (onshore/offshore), consultants, and third-party vendors for cohesive delivery.
- Coordinate efforts across implementation partners and internal teams to ensure best practices and alignment.
7. Technical Architecture & Data Migration :
- Craft integration architecturesmiddleware, data pipelines, POS to ECC consolidation, etc.
- Lead master and transactional data migration strategiesincluding mapping, transformation logic, and execution.
8. Governance & Compliance :
- Enforce release/change management, SOX/PCI DSS compliance, and audit-ready documentation.
- Promote adherence to global/regional retail and IT standards.
Qualifications :
Experience & Functional Skills :
- 8-15+ years in SAP IS Retail or similar retail/SAP domains with 35 full-cycle implementations.
- Deep expertise in SAP IS Retail (Pricing, Promotions, Master Data, POS interface, POSDM, Merchandise, Allocation, etc.) across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.
Technical & Integration Capabilities :
- Proficiency in configuration (ALE, IDocs, EDI, BAPI, workflows, enhancements), and familiarity with integration tools (SAP PI/PO, ESB, middleware).
Leadership & Soft Skills :
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, team mentoring, and coaching skillsespecially in a retail context.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and adaptability.
Preferred Credentials :
- SAP certification in IS Retail or relevant modules.
- Prior experience with S/4HANA migrations, Retail CoE, or global retail transformations.Minimum 5+ years of hands-on IS Retail implementation and support experience with knowledge of Merchandising, Assortment, Listing, and Pricing.
- 10+ years in SAP SD/MM consulting, configuration, and implementation.
