Shift : APAC - 7 am to 4 pm IST (Remote)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SAP Data Archiving & ILM Expert Consultant to take a leadership role in defining and executing our comprehensive SAP data lifecycle management strategy.

This specialist role requires 8+ years of SAP experience, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to data archiving, possessing deep knowledge of SAP ADK, ILM (Information Lifecycle Management), and volume management techniques.

The Consultant will be crucial in optimizing data volume, enhancing system performance (especially on HANA DB), and ensuring compliance across the ECC, S/4HANA, and BW landscapes.

Core Responsibilities :

Data Archiving Strategy and Execution :

- Lead the design, planning, and execution of comprehensive SAP data archiving projects across various modules (e.g., FI, MM, SD, PP).

- Apply strong technical knowledge of the SAP Archiving Development Kit (ADK) and core transaction codes (SARA, DB15) for archive object management and configuration.

- Hands-on experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments to analyze and implement appropriate archiving solutions.

- Utilize HANA DB monitoring tools to analyze system performance before and after archiving runs, ensuring maximum benefit and minimal impact.

Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) and Compliance :

- Design and implement solutions leveraging SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) to manage data retention policies, legal holds, and destruction processes compliant with global standards.

- Drive GDPR/data privacy compliance projects by implementing features like Read Access Logging (RAL) and configuring data destruction rules via ILM.

- Define and implement strategies for Data Volume Management (DVM) using SAP Solution Manager DVM tools to proactively monitor and manage data growth.

Storage Integration and Support :

- Configure and manage the integration of archived data with external storage solutions such as OpenText, PBS, or file system-based storage.

- Collaborate with Basis and functional teams to ensure the stability, recoverability, and accessibility of archived data.

- Provide expert guidance, problem-solving, and analytical support to resolve complex archiving or ILM-related issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : Minimum 8 years of experience in SAP systems, with at least 3 years dedicated to SAP data archiving.

- SAP Archiving Tools : Strong knowledge of SAP ADK, SARA, and DB15 transaction codes, and practical experience with archive object management.

- ILM/DVM : Mandatory experience with SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management), DVM (Data Volume Management), and Read Access Logging (RAL).

- System Landscape : Hands-on experience implementing archiving/ILM in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.

- Storage Integration : Familiarity with external storage solutions such as OpenText, PBS, or file-system configuration for archived data.

- Compliance : Direct experience in GDPR/data privacy compliance projects related to data retention and destruction.

- Analytical Skills : Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to interact with technical and business stakeholders.
