SAP FICO Consultant - COPA Module

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP FICO Consultant specializing in Product Costing, CO-PA, and Material Ledger. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end costing processes, ensure accurate inventory valuation, support profitability analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost transparency and financial performance.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Product Cost Planning & Actual Costing.

- Configure and manage cost estimates, cost components, and cost object hierarchies.

- Implement costing variants, valuation strategies, and standard/actual costing setups.

- Support actual costing, postclosing activities, and settlements using Material Ledger.

- Cost Flow Design

- Design and configure end-to-end cost flows across manufacturing, procurement, and finance.

- Integrate product costing with FI, MM, PP, SD, ensuring data accuracy and process alignment.

- Margin Analysis & Profitability

- Implement and support CO-PA (Profitability Analysis) and Margin Analysis.

- Enable reporting on product margins, cost variances, profitability drivers, and KPIs.

- Material Ledger & Inventory Valuation

- Activate and configure Material Ledger for actual costing and multi-currency valuation.

- Ensure accurate inventory valuation, reconciliation with FI, and month-end closing support.

- Testing & Data Validation

- Lead Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and UAT cycles.

- Validate costing-related master data (cost centers, activity types, BOM, routing).

- Client Engagement & Documentation

- Conduct workshops to gather detailed business requirements.

- Prepare Functional Specifications (FS), Training Materials, SOPs, and process documentation.

- Act as a liaison between business users, technical teams, and leadership stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills

- Bachelors/masters degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.

- 5+ years hands-on experience in SAP Product Costing (ECC or S/4HANA).

- Strong expertise in:

- Standard Costing & Actual Costing

- Activity-Based Costing (ABC)

- Material Ledger

- CO-PA (Account-Based & Costing-Based)

- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (BOM, Routing, Work Centers, Costing Sheets).

- Experience integrating FI-CO with MM, PP, SD, and Inventory Management.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

- Experience in SAP S/4HANA Conversion or Greenfield Implementation.

- Knowledge of Margin Analysis in S/4HANA.

- Hands-on experience with Fiori apps related to costing and profitability.

- Working knowledge of Group Reporting or Universal Journal (ACDOCA) concepts.

- Exposure to Automation Tools, BADI enhancements, or Costing-related custom developments.

- Familiarity with Profit Center Accounting (PCA) and Internal Orders.

- Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for profitability dashboards.

- Experience in global rollout projects, multi-currency, and multi-entity environments.

Soft Skills

- Strong business acumen and domain understanding in manufacturing or FMCG.

- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across finance, operations, and IT.

- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
