SAP Datasphere Technical Lead

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced SAP DataSphere Technical Lead to drive the design, development, and support of enterprise-scale SAP DataSphere implementations. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the technical landscape, lead troubleshooting and optimization efforts, and guide teams to ensure stable, high-performing data integration and analytics solutions.

This role requires deep hands-on expertise in SAP DataSphere, SAP data extraction mechanisms, SLT, and S/4HANA connectivity, along with strong leadership and collaboration skills to work across BASIS, functional, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end technical design and development for SAP DataSphere implementations

- Provide technical direction and mentorship to developers and junior team members

- Review solution designs, data models, and integration approaches to ensure best practices

- Ensure seamless execution of data integration and analytics operations

- Design and implement data extraction from various SAP sources, including : SAP tables at the database layer SAP SLT Operational Data Provider (ODP) sources ABAP CDS Views

- Build and optimize data flows leveraging S/4HANA extractors, tables, CDS views, and CDC delta mechanisms

- Ensure efficient handling of real-time and batch data replication scenarios

- Lead the setup, configuration, and management of SAP SLT for real-time and batch replication

- Monitor, tune, and optimize SLT performance for high-volume data scenarios

- Troubleshoot replication issues, latency, and data consistency challenges

- Collaborate closely with the SAP BASIS team to ensure SLT system stability and performance

- Establish and manage connections between SAP DataSphere and SAP ECC SAP S/4HANA Non-SAP systems (e.g., Azure, cloud platforms, external data sources)

- Ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing integration architectures

- Support hybrid data landscapes across SAP and non-SAP environments

- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues within SAP DataSphere

- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective and preventive measures

- Provide advanced IT support to ensure optimal system availability and performance

- Proactively monitor systems to identify potential risks and bottlenecks

Required Skills & Experience :

- 8+ years of overall IT experience with strong focus on SAP data and analytics platforms

- Hands-on expertise with SAP DataSphere (design, development, troubleshooting)

- Strong experience in SAP data extraction techniques : SLT ODP ABAP CDS Views SAP tables and extractors

- Solid understanding of CDC delta capabilities in S/4HANA Integration & Platform Knowledge

- Experience connecting SAP DataSphere with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and non-SAP systems (Azure, cloud platforms)

- Strong understanding of data replication, performance tuning, and system health monitoring

- Familiarity with hybrid and cloud-based data architectures

Leadership & Soft Skills :

- Proven experience leading technical teams and guiding solution delivery

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

- Ability to work independently in a contract-based, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications :

- Prior experience in large-scale enterprise SAP analytics or data modernization programs

- Exposure to SAP Datasphere governance, security, and lifecycle management

- Experience working in hybrid or cloud-centric SAP landscapes
