Role Overview :

We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished Consultant SAP Controlling (CO) with specialization in COPA to lead financial performance management and profitability analysis solutions within global SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments.

The ideal professional will bring a deep understanding of Controlling (CO) processes and Profitability Analysis (COPA), ensuring accurate cost and revenue tracking, performance transparency, and value-driven financial insights across the enterprise.

This role requires a strong combination of functional expertise, analytical precision, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-impact solutions that support strategic business decisions and financial excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP COCOPA (both costing-based and account-based) processes in S/4HANA or ECC systems.

- Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to define profitability structures, cost elements, and reporting requirements.

- Develop COPA data models, value fields, characteristics, and derivation rules to ensure accurate and detailed profitability reporting.

- Configure cost center accounting, internal orders, product costing, and profit center accounting, ensuring end-to-end integration within the CO landscape.

- Integrate COCOPA with other modules such as FI, SD, MM, and PP for seamless flow of financial and operational data.

- Build and validate custom COPA reports, KPIs, and dashboards using tools like Fiori, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or embedded analytics.

- Perform reconciliation between FI and COPA to ensure consistency and financial data integrity.

- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, profitability reconciliations, and management reporting.

- Drive optimization of financial processes and reporting frameworks to enhance transparency and decision-making accuracy.

- Provide post-implementation support, defect resolution, and system enhancements in collaboration with finance and IT teams.

- Train key users and business stakeholders on COPA functionalities, analysis methods, and self-service reporting.

Required Skills and Experience :

- 710 years of experience in SAP CO with a minimum of 4+ years of hands-on expertise in COPA configuration and reporting.

- Deep functional understanding of Controlling processes including cost center accounting, internal orders, and profitability analysis.

- Strong experience in COPA integration with FI, SD, MM, and PP modules.

- Hands-on experience with account-based COPA in S/4HANA, including Universal Journal concepts.

- Strong knowledge of COPA data flow, allocation cycles, assessments, and settlements.

- Proven experience in reconciliation between FI and COPA ledgers.

- Working knowledge of SAP Reporting tools (Fiori, SAC, BW/4HANA, or Analysis for Office).

- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Proven ability to translate complex financial requirements into scalable SAP solutions.

Preferred Qualifications :

- SAP Certified Application Associate Management Accounting (CO) or S/4HANA Controlling.

- Experience in S/4HANA Finance transformations or greenfield COPA implementations.

- Exposure to profitability modeling, predictive analytics, or machine learning-based forecasting.

- Familiarity with Agile delivery environments and cross-functional global finance programs.

- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, energy, or automotive industries.
