Role Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on SAP ABAP Developer with strong expertise in Core ABAP development across SAP ECC 5.0 and above environments.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of SAP business processes, master data, and transactional data, with strong integration knowledge across SD, MM, FICO, and PP modules.

Exposure to SAP S/4HANA ABAP development, modern ABAP paradigms, and participation in global SAP implementations is highly desirable.

This role requires strong ownership, adherence to SDLC and quality standards, and close collaboration with cross-functional and global teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and enhance SAP ABAP applications in ECC 5.0 and higher systems.

- Perform detailed technical analysis leveraging strong knowledge of SAP business documents, master data, and transaction flows across SD, MM, FICO, and PP.

Develop and support solutions using :

- BADI, BAPI, User Exits, Enhancements

- Reports, Dialog Programming

- SAP Scripts, SMARTFORMS, Adobe Forms

- Interfaces and Data Conversion Programs

- Ensure strict adherence to SAP abstraction layers, including Open SQL vs Native SQL, Data Dictionary usage, and OS-level interactions.

- Develop scalable and reusable solutions using ABAP Objects (OO ABAP).

Perform root cause analysis and performance optimization using tools such as :

- ABAP Debugger

- SQL Trace (ST05)

- Code Inspector / ATC

- Application Logs

- Transport Management System

Design and support integration scenarios using :

- IDOC / EDI

- Web Services

- SAP Proxies

- SAP PI / XI

- Participate in incident management, problem resolution, and service delivery within defined SLA commitments.

- Prepare and review technical specifications, unit test cases, and test scripts; conduct peer code reviews.

- Collaborate effectively with global teams, business stakeholders, and implementation partners.

- Ensure compliance with SDLC processes, quality frameworks, and organizational standards.

Technical Skills & Competencies :

Mandatory Skills :

- 7 to 10+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience in ECC environments.

- Strong expertise in Core ABAP (mandatory).

- Solid understanding of SD, MM, FICO, and PP modules and cross-module integration.

- Strong experience in ABAP Objects and object-oriented programming principles.

- Hands-on experience with interfaces: IDOC, Web Services, Proxy, PI/XI.

- Experience with BDC, eCATT, and Transaction Recorder.

- Strong skills in debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving.

- Familiarity with incident management tools such as Remedy or similar.

- Good understanding of SAP architecture and enterprise data concepts.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Good to Have (Preferred Skills) :

- Experience in SAP S/4HANA ABAP development.

- Knowledge of modern ABAP concepts :

- Exposure to SAP Fiori & SAPUI5 custom application development.

- Experience with SAP Gateway (SEGW) modeling and troubleshooting.

- Knowledge of SAP Personas and frontend JavaScript.

- Experience with BRF+.

- Hands-on exposure to SQL Monitor (SQLM) and SCMON.

- Strong OO design skills for complex enterprise-scale SAP solutions.

Qualifications & Experience :

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

- Minimum 7 to 9 years of relevant SAP ABAP experience.

- Prior experience working on global SAP implementations is a strong plus.

- Strong customer focus with a commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
