SAP BTP Integration Lead

One of our clients is looking for a capable and motivated SAP BTP Integration Lead with 7 - 8 years of experience in SAP integration technologies, including strong hands-on expertise with SAP BTP Integration Suite. The ideal candidate should have experience leading a small team of developers, managing integration projects, and contributing to the successful migration of interfaces from SAP PI/PO to BTP Cloud Integration.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical skills with team leadership and is ready to play a key role in ongoing SAP integration modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Execution & Planning :

- Work with project managers and architects to understand integration requirements and scope.

- Lead the technical planning and effort estimation for integration-related workstreams.

- Help define interface migration priorities based on business and technical impact.

Technical Design & Implementation :

- Design and develop integration flows using SAP BTP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration).

- Lead the reimplementation of SAP PI/PO interfaces in BTP using modern integration patterns.

- Configure and manage interfaces involving SOAP, REST, OData, IDocs, and Proxies.

- Apply message mapping and transformation using Groovy scripts, XSLT, or Java UDFs.

Team Leadership & Collaboration :

- Lead and mentor a team of integration developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and code quality.

- Conduct technical reviews and guide developers on error handling, security, and monitoring.

- Collaborate with functional teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.

Integration Support & Testing :

- Support system testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for integration issues.

- Assist in the creation of test cases and cutover plans.

- Provide post-go-live support and documentation for operations teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 7 - 8 years of experience in SAP Integration, with at least 2- 3 years in SAP BTP Integration Suite.

- Solid understanding of SAP PI/PO, and experience with migration projects to SAP BTP.

- Hands-on expertise in :

1. Cloud Integration (iFlows)

2. API Management (basic exposure)

3. Groovy Scripting, Message Mapping, Routing, and Security Artifacts

- Strong experience in OData, SOAP, REST, IDoc, RFC/BAPI, and ABAP Proxies.

- Familiarity with integration tools and protocols (e.g., SFTP, JDBC, HTTPS).

- Proven experience in leading a small team of integration consultants or developers.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) :

- Exposure to SAP Event Mesh, Open Connectors, or CAP/RAP.

- Experience in hybrid landscapes integrating SAP with third-party or cloud systems.

- Basic knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and secure connectivity via SAP Cloud Connector.
