Role Summary :

We are looking for an experienced SAP BI/BO Consultant to manage and enhance reporting solutions within an SAP ECC AMS environment.

The role requires strong expertise in production support, reporting, data validation, and performance optimization across SAP BusinessObjects and SAP BW systems.

Key Result Areas :

- Production Stability & SLA Adherence : Ensure high system uptime by effectively managing L2/L3 incidents and meeting SLA timelines for issue resolution.

- Reporting Accuracy & Availability : Maintain 100% accuracy and availability of business-critical reports across BO and BW platforms.

- Issue Resolution Efficiency : Minimize turnaround time for resolving report failures, data inconsistencies, and ETL issues.

- Enhancement Delivery : Deliver change requests and report enhancements within defined timelines and quality standards.

- Data Integrity & Monitoring : Ensure seamless data flow from ECC to BW by proactively monitoring and resolving data load failures.

- Performance Optimization : Improve report and query performance through optimization techniques and best practices.

- Stakeholder Satisfaction : Act as a reliable point of contact for business users, ensuring clear communication and quick resolution of concerns.

- Process Improvement : Identify and implement automation and process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and user experience.

- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing : Maintain up-to-date documentation and enable smooth knowledge transfer across teams.

Key Responsibilities :

AMS Support & Incident Management :

- Provide L2/L3 support for SAP BI/BO issues

- Troubleshoot report failures (WebI, Crystal Reports), data inconsistencies, and ETL failures

- Manage SLA-driven tickets using ServiceNow, JIRA, or similar tools

Reporting & Dashboard Support :

- Support and enhance reports using SAP BusinessObjects (WebI, Crystal Reports) and BW (BEx)

- Validate report outputs against ECC tables (VBAK, BKPF, MARA)

- Ensure consistent availability and accuracy of reports

Change Requests & Enhancements :

- Modify existing reports and develop new queries/dashboards

- Prepare functional and technical specifications

- Collaborate with development teams for implementation

Data & ETL Monitoring :

- Monitor data loads (InfoPackages, DTPs, Process Chains)

- Manage delta loads from ECC to BW

- Troubleshoot load failures and performance issues

Performance Optimization :

- Optimize BW queries, reports, and data models

- Apply best practices like indexing, aggregates, and efficient query design

- Integration with SAP ECC

- Work with FI, SD, MM data sources

- Validate extractors and data flow

- Handle LO Cockpit, generic extractors, and delta mechanisms

Testing & Transport Management :

- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT

- Manage transport lifecycle across DEV, QA, and PROD environments

Documentation & Continuous Improvement :

- Maintain technical documentation, KT materials, and report catalogs

- Drive automation, data quality improvements, and reporting enhancements

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6- 12 years of SAP BI/BO experience

- Strong exposure to ECC AMS/support environments

- SAP BO Skills

- Web Intelligence (WebI)

- Crystal Reports

- Universe Design (IDT/UDT)

- Report scheduling and publication

- SAP BW Skills

- BW Data Modeling (InfoObjects, DSOs, InfoCubes)

- BEx Queries, Process Chains

- Data extraction and delta handling

Technical Skills :

- SQL and database fundamentals

- Knowledge of ECC tables (FI, SD, MM)

- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL

Tools & Good to Have :

- ITSM Tools : ServiceNow / JIRA / Remedy

- SAP Solution Manager (nice to have)

- Exposure to SAP BW on HANA / BW/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
