We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP Basis Upgrade and Migration Consultant to join our organization on a contractual basis. The role demands strong expertise in managing SAP upgrades, migrations, and administration in a Windows and Oracle database environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of SAP system architecture, migration methodologies, and upgrade best practices.

This position involves end-to-end responsibility for planning, executing, and validating SAP Basis upgrades and migrations across multiple environments. You will work closely with functional consultants, business users, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless transitions and system stability post-migration. The candidate must also demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing system efficiency, and maintaining overall SAP landscape health.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and execute SAP system upgrades and migrations involving Oracle databases in a Windows operating system environment.

- Manage SAP NetWeaver Java Portal system upgrades, including transitions from version 7.4 to 7.5 and related components.

- Utilize SUM (Software Update Manager) and SWPM (Software Provisioning Manager) tools effectively for upgrade and migration processes.

- Plan, prepare, and perform SAP on Oracle database upgrades up to version 19c, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.

- Conduct system copy and migration processes for homogeneous environments (Windows to Windows) and validate post-migration functionality.

- Administer SAP Enterprise Portal (EP) including content repository management, UME role migration, system alias configuration, RFC management, and runtime handling.

- Perform system performance tuning, troubleshooting, and applying relevant support packages or patches as required.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Basis, Application, and Database administrators to resolve technical issues efficiently.

- Maintain documentation of upgrade and migration procedures, project plans, and technical changes for audit and compliance purposes.-

- Support post-migration validation, user acceptance testing, and provide technical assistance during go-live activities.

Skills and Experience Required :

- Strong hands-on experience in SAP system upgrades and migrations with Oracle Database in a Windows environment.

- Proven expertise in SAP NetWeaver Java Portal system upgrades (e.g., from 7.4 to 7.5).

- Deep understanding of SAP Basis architecture, administration, and performance monitoring.

- Proficiency in SUM and SWPM tools, with proven experience in executing upgrade and provisioning activities.

- Experience in Oracle Database upgrades, particularly SAP systems on Oracle 19c.

- Knowledge of system copy and migration procedures (homogeneous environment - Windows OS).

- Experience managing SAP Enterprise Portal (EP), including security, content repository, and UME configurations.

- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues under pressure.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate with global teams, business stakeholders, and end-users.
