Overview :
As part of the SAP Operations team, the SAP Authorization Support Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining user access and authorization concepts within the S/4HANA landscape after global or regional rollouts.
The role ensures that all authorization-related processes comply with security, compliance, and audit requirements, while supporting end users and business teams in day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide operational support for SAP authorizations in the live S/4HANA environment following system rollouts.
- Manage user access requests, role assignments, and authorization changes in alignment with defined governance and compliance frameworks.
- Analyze and resolve authorization and access-related incidents and service requests in cooperation with business and IT teams.
- Monitor and maintain the SAP role and authorization concept to ensure consistent and secure access management.
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to identify and close authorization gaps.
- Conduct regular user and role reviews (e.g., SoD checks, audit support).
- Support the continuous improvement of authorization processes, documentation, and tooling.
- Assist in testing and deployment of authorization changes during system enhancements, upgrades, or new rollouts.
- Coordinate with global IT security, compliance, and audit teams to ensure adherence to corporate standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- BE /B.Tech /MCA /Bsc (Any Stream) /BCA/ M.sc (Any Steam).
- Solid experience (4+ years) in SAP authorization management within S/4HANA or ECC environments.
- Strong knowledge of SAP roles, profiles, authorization objects, and user administration (SU01, PFCG, SUIM, ST01).
- Experience in SoD (Segregation of Duties) concepts.
- Familiarity with Fiori authorization concepts and integration with backend roles.
- Ability to analyze complex authorization issues and propose sustainable solutions.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with business users and IT stakeholders.
- Good understanding of IT service management processes (e.g., Incident, Change, and Problem Management in ITIL, e.g. BMC remedy, ServiceNow).
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
