Role Summary :

The technical consultant will provide technical expertise to plan, analyse, define, develop, enhance, and support SAP ABAP capabilities for client transformation, implementation, conversion, enhancement, and support projects.

The role requires strong expertise in SAP ABAP on S/4HANA, development of technical and integration solutions, client interaction, technical design, troubleshooting, testing, and delivery support across SAP environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Independently work as an expert in the SAP ABAP technical workstream for SAP implementation, conversion, development, enhancement, and support projects.

- Develop and maintain ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, workflows, and custom developments in SAP S/4HANA environments.

- Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable and technically feasible SAP solutions.

- Prepare high-level designs and detailed technical designs based on functional and integration requirements.

- Develop technical solutions using ABAP, ABAP Objects, OOPs concepts, CDS Views, AMDP, and modern S/4HANA development approaches.

- Work closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders to understand requirements, processes, and technical dependencies.

- Participate in technical and technology workshops to understand and deliver integration requirements.

- Drive client discussions to define technical and integration requirements and translate them into appropriate SAP solutions.

- Develop and support interfaces and integrations between SAP and external systems using appropriate SAP technologies.

- Work on OData services, APIs, RFC, BAPI, IDoc, proxy, web services, and other integration mechanisms as required.

- Develop and enhance SAP Fiori/UI5 backend services and support S/4HANA application requirements where applicable.

- Perform technical analysis, debugging, performance tuning, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex production issues.

- Prepare technical specifications and development documentation for development and testing activities.

- Prepare and execute unit test cases, test plans, integration testing, and defect resolution.

- Ensure development follows SAP coding standards, performance guidelines, security standards, and development best practices.

- Support SAP S/4HANA conversion, migration, upgrade, enhancement, and transformation activities.

- Provide training, knowledge transfer, and technical support to end-users and project teams as required.

- Manage technical deliverables, project timelines, dependencies, and escalations.

- Provide expert support to various projects and delivery engagements as and when required.

- Drive innovation and transformation initiatives within large existing accounts and contribute to delivery excellence.

- Provide delivery support and escalation management.

- Interact with SAP and third-party partners for technical issues, integrations, and solution delivery.

Must Have :

- Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP.

- Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA technical development.

- Good understanding of ABAP Objects and Object-Oriented Programming.

- Hands-on experience in CDS Views and modern ABAP development.

- Strong experience in developing Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, Forms, BAPIs, RFCs, and IDocs.

- Good understanding of S/4HANA architecture and extensibility concepts.

- Experience in technical design, development, debugging, testing, and production support.

- Experience working with functional teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience in SAP implementation, conversion, enhancement, upgrade, or support projects.

- 5 - 8 years of overall SAP ABAP experience.

Good to Have :

- Experience with AMDP and HANA database programming.

- Exposure to OData, REST APIs, and SAP Gateway.

- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 backend development.

- Knowledge of RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model).

- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA conversion and migration projects.

- Experience with performance tuning and code optimization.

- Exposure to SAP BTP and cloud-based integrations.

- Experience working in Agile/DevOps delivery environments.

- Ability to lead technical discussions and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
