About the Role :

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong SAP ABAP Developer to join our growing SAP delivery team in Vizag. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality ABAP solutions across SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA systems.

This role involves close collaboration with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and project managers to deliver reliable and scalable technical solutions for business-critical applications.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities, and contributing to both project implementation and support activities.

Key Responsibilities :

1. ABAP Development & Customization

Develop and enhance ABAP programs including :

- Classical and Interactive Reports

- ALV Reports (Grid/List/OO ALV)

- Module Pool Programs

- Background jobs and batch programs

Develop and maintain RICEF objects :

- Reports

- Interfaces

- Conversions

- Enhancements

- Forms

2. Data Dictionary & Database Handling :

Design and manage Data Dictionary objects :

- Tables, Views, Structures

- Data Elements and Domains

- Write optimized Open SQL queries and perform database tuning for performance improvement.

3. Interfaces & Integrations :

Develop and support interfaces using :

- IDocs (Inbound/Outbound)

- BAPIs and RFCs

- File-based integrations (FTP/SFTP)

- Web services and Proxies (if applicable)

- Work with middleware and third-party systems for seamless data exchange.

4. Enhancements & User Exits :

Implement business requirements using :

- User Exits

- Customer Exits

- BADIs

- Enhancement Framework

- Apply object-oriented ABAP principles wherever applicable.

5. Forms Development :

Design and modify :

- SmartForms

- SAP Scripts

- Adobe Forms

- for invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes, and other business documents.

6. Debugging & Support :

- Analyze and resolve technical issues using advanced debugging techniques.

- Perform root cause analysis and provide permanent fixes for recurring problems.

- Support production issues and handle change requests.

7. Collaboration & Documentation :

- Work closely with functional consultants (MM, SD, FI, PP, HR, etc.) to understand business processes.

- Prepare technical design documents, unit test cases, and deployment documentation.

- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.

8. Quality & Best Practices :

- Ensure adherence to SAP development standards and project guidelines.

- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code.

- Follow secure coding and performance optimization practices.

Required Technical Skills :

Strong hands-on experience in :

- SAP ABAP/4 programming

- ABAP Objects (OOPS)

- ALV reporting

- BDC, LSMW

- IDocs, RFC, BAPI

- SmartForms / Adobe Forms

- Enhancements (User exits, BADIs)

- Experience working in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments

- Good knowledge of RICEF development methodology

- Solid debugging and performance tuning skills

Functional Knowledge :

- Basic to intermediate understanding of SAP modules such as:

- MM (Materials Management)

- SD (Sales & Distribution)

- FI/CO (Finance & Controlling)

- PP or HR (optional)

Preferred / Nice to Have Skills :

- Exposure to S/4HANA migration or implementation projects

Knowledge of :

- CDS Views

- OData services

- Fiori/UI5 basics

- SAP BTP integration

- Experience with Agile or Scrum project methodologies
