SAP ABAP Consultant - RAP Module

Job Overview :

We are looking for a highly skilled SAP ABAP Consultant with strong expertise in ABAP on S/4HANA and hands-on experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of modern ABAP development practices, CDS-based data modeling, and OData services, along with a solid understanding of clean core principles and SAP extensibility options.

This role requires close collaboration with functional teams and UI developers to design, build, and deploy scalable and high-performance SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and enhance applications using ABAP RAP (Managed and Unmanaged Scenarios).

- Create and maintain Behavior Definitions, including validations, determinations, actions, and draft handling.

- Develop Core Data Services (CDS) Views for efficient data modeling, including annotations and associations.

- Build and expose business objects through OData services and Service Bindings for UI and external integrations.

- Apply modern ABAP 7.5+ syntax and best coding practices to ensure clean, optimized, and maintainable code.

- Work extensively with Object-Oriented ABAP (OOPS), modularization techniques, debugging, and performance tuning.

- Develop and support RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).

- Follow SAP S/4HANA clean core principles and leverage standard extensibility options.

- Collaborate with functional consultants (SD/MM) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Use Eclipse / ABAP Development Tools (ADT) for development, testing, and deployment activities.

- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment to ensure solution quality and stability.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 5 to 9 years of overall SAP ABAP experience (Average ~7 years).

- Strong expertise in ABAP RAP Managed and Unmanaged scenarios.

- Hands-on experience with Behavior Definitions (validations, determinations, actions, drafts).

- Deep understanding of CDS Views, annotations, and associations.

- Experience in OData services and Service Binding.

- Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented ABAP (OOPS) and classical ABAP.

- Hands-on experience with ABAP 7.5+ syntax.

- Solid exposure to SAP S/4HANA development and extensibility concepts.

- Experience working with RICEF objects.

- Proficient with Eclipse / ADT environment
