SAP ABAP Consultant - CDS View/OData

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant with strong technical expertise in advanced ABAP programming and a proven track record in delivering SAP solutions within complex business environments.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in CDS Views, OData services, SAP HANA, and the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).

This role requires a consultant who can design, develop, and optimize SAP solutions that align with business requirements while leveraging modern ABAP development frameworks.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement CDS Views, OData services, and RAP-based applications to support Fiori/UI5 applications and modern SAP landscapes.

- Work extensively with SAP HANA database, optimizing ABAP code for high performance and scalability.

- Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate functional specifications into robust technical designs.

- Develop, test, and deploy custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows.

- Ensure high-quality code through peer reviews, performance tuning, and adherence to SAP development standards.

- Provide support for system upgrades, patches, and integration projects.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in ABAP developments, ensuring minimal business disruption.

- Document technical specifications, development objects, and system enhancements for future reference.

Mandatory Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in Core Data Services (CDS) Views and OData services for building data models and APIs.

- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA, including performance optimization, SQL scripting, and HANA-native development.

- Solid working knowledge of ABAP RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model) for building modern, cloud-ready applications.

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.

- Exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5 integration and SAP S/4HANA environments is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills :

- Knowledge of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) extensions and cloud-based integration.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices within SAP development.

- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and client interaction.

Educational Qualification :

- SAP certifications in ABAP on HANA or S/4HANA are a plus
