- Lead engineering maturity and delivery governance across Salesforce ecosystem; Define coding standards and promote agile culture; Stabilize delivery quality and velocity


Role Overview :


We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead engineering maturity and delivery governance across our Salesforce ecosystem, spanning internal and vendor teams. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical oversight, process governance, and cross-vendor team alignment, with a strong focus on Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Field Service Lightning.


The role demands a mix of strategic thinking and tactical delivery management, with the ability to drive quality improvements, introduce engineering best practices, and embed a strong agile culture within a multi-vendor, distributed environment.


Required Qualifications & Skills :


- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 8+ years of Salesforce experience, with hands-on expertise in :

- Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Field Service Lightning

- Apex, LWC, Aura, SOQL/SOSL, Flows

- 3-5+ years in a technical leadership role, preferably across distributed or vendor teams.

- Proven ability to stabilise delivery, introduce engineering discipline, and lead agile transformations.

- Solid understanding of Salesforce security model, platform limitations, and governance constraints.

- Experience driving maturity across CI/CD, documentation, and quality gates.

- Effective communicator with ability to influence and mentor cross-functional teams.


Preferred :

- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I/II, Service Cloud Consultant)

- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent

- Prior experience in multi-vendor environments or vendor performance management


Key Responsibilities :


Strategic Engineering Governance :


- Define and enforce coding standards, component design guidelines, and review practices across development team.

- Champion preventive engineering early defect detection, code quality metrics, and test automation.

- Coordinate cross-vendor architecture/design reviews in partnership with the Solution Architect.

- Promote platform governance secure coding, permission model hygiene, and scalable designs.


Tactical Delivery Oversight :

- Work closely with the current vendors delivery team to stabilise output quality and delivery velocity.

- Guide daily development activities including code reviews, story validations, and defect triaging.

- Identify root causes of recurring quality issues and drive immediate remediation plans.

- Establish backlog readiness, definition of done, and user story hygiene.


Agile Process Maturity :


- Act as a coach, helping enforce agile principles and eliminating waterfall behaviours.

- Improve agile ceremonies (standups, planning, and retrospectives) and drive ownership in sprint execution.

- Establish and maintain process discipline for documentation, traceability, and component versioning.


Cross-Vendor Team Alignment :

- Ensure fair workload distribution and role clarity across internal and external resources.

- Conduct skill and maturity assessments, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.

- Promote collaborative behaviours, feedback loops, and accountability in a hybrid delivery setup.


KPI Ownership :


- Define, implement, and monitor delivery KPIs (e.g., code quality, velocity, defect rates, documentation

hygiene).

- Provide regular reporting and improvement plans based on performance metrics.
