Sabre - Senior Software Engineer- Data Platform Automation

Description :

Automation & Framework Development :

- Build automation solutions using Python and PySpark for large-scale data validation

- Develop reusable components for data quality, schema validation, and regression testing

Data & BigQuery Testing :

- Write and optimize complex SQL queries in BigQuery

- Validate ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations

- Perform large-scale data validation and reconciliation

- Ensure high data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency)

Backend & API Automation :

- Automate REST API testing using Python-based frameworks

- Validate business logic, integrations, and service contracts

- Build end-to-end regression suites for backend systems

UI Automation (Secondary) :

- Validate critical user journeys and workflows

CI/CD & DevOps :

- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines

- Enable automated testing for releases and deployments

- Work closely with DevOps for test environments and execution

Collaboration & Quality Engineering :

- Work with cross-functional teams (Data, Backend, Product)

- Participate in requirement reviews and test planning

- Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices

Must-Have Skills :

- Strong programming skills in Python

- Hands-on experience with PySpark

- Strong expertise in Google BigQuery (SQL, data validation, optimization)

- Experience with ETL/ELT testing and data pipeline validation

- Experience in API automation and backend testing

- Knowledge of data warehousing and distributed systems

- Familiarity with CI/CD and Git workflows

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with Playwright (UI automation)

- Exposure to GCP cloud environment

- Experience with data quality frameworks and reconciliation techniques

- Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field

- 6 to 8 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on automation

- Experience working on data platforms or large-scale systems is preferred
