Runo - Artificial Intelligence Engineer - NLP/AWS SageMaker

Were seeking a Senior AI Developer with strong backend engineering expertise and hands-on experience in AI/ML product development. You will lead the design and development of our AI backend module, contribute to building advanced AI-powered features (e.g., conversational copilots, sentiment analysis, predictive insights), and mentor junior AI developers in the team.

This is a highly impactful role that bridges backend scalability with AI innovation, helping us deliver secure, intelligent, and real-time CRM experiences.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, and optimize AI-driven backend modules for our CRM platform

- Implement, train, and deploy machine learning models (NLP, speech analytics, predictive modeling) in production

- Integrate AI services seamlessly with existing microservices and APIs

- Ensure AI features meet scalability, latency, and compliance requirements

- Collaborate closely with backend, data engineering, and product teams to deliver AI features from concept to production

- Mentor and guide junior AI developers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence

- Stay updated with advancements in AI/ML, LLMs, and cloud-native AI deployments

Eligibility Criteria :

Education :

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field

Experience :

- 4+ years of overall software development experience

- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on AI/ML development (preferably NLP, speech, or applied AI in SaaS)

- Proven backend development experience in high-scale systems

Technical Proficiency :

- Strong in one or more backend languages (Node.js / Python preferred)

- Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace, etc.)

- Hands-on experience with AWS ecosystem for AI/ML (Lambda, Sagemaker, API Gateway, SQS, DynamoDB/MongoDB)

- Experience with deploying and scaling AI models in production environments

- Familiarity with LLMs, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) is a strong plus
