About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced and talented Ruby on Rails Developer to build, scale, and maintain high-performance web applications.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing resilient backend systems, optimizing payment and checkout flows, managing order workflows, and handling high-traffic applications with large datasets.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Application Development & Architecture :

- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure web applications using Ruby on Rails.

- Write clean, maintainable, modular, and well-tested code following best engineering practices.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture design and engineering standards.

2. Core Systems & Performance Optimization :

- Build, scale, and optimize core business modules, including payments, billing, checkout systems, and order management workflows.

- Implement and manage asynchronous background job processing using Sidekiq or similar frameworks.

- Optimize database queries (PostgreSQL/MySQL), manage caching strategies, and fine-tune application performance for high-traffic environments.

3. Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate backend systems within a microservices architecture.

- Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers, to deliver key features.

Location : Pune (Hybrid) - Open only to candidates based in or willing to relocate immediately to Pune or Mumbai.

Notice Period : Immediate joiners or candidates serving a maximum notice period of 15 days.

Must-Have Skills :

- Deep expertise in Ruby and Ruby on Rails (RoR).

- Hands-on experience building or scaling payments, billing, checkout, or e-commerce/order management systems.

- Proven experience managing background jobs with Sidekiq and handling large datasets under high concurrency.

- Strong relational database design skills (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and query performance tuning.

Good to Have :

- Prior experience integrating third-party payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Razorpay).

- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
