About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced RPG / AS400 Developer who has hands-on expertise in developing new programs and maintaining existing solutions within the IBM i (iSeries) environment. This role requires deep technical proficiency in RPG-based technologies and an ability to work across SQL, CL, DDS, and integration methods such as FTP/SFTP and Web Services.

This is a high-impact role for professionals who are strong in AS400 backend systems and can independently handle complex business logic and performance-sensitive applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain applications using SQLRPGLE, RPG/400, RPG-ILE, RPG Free, CL, and DDS.

- Write new programs from scratch as well as enhance/modify existing RPG-based applications.

- Work extensively on AS400 Query, SQL, Client Access, MS Excel, and iSeries tools.

- Collaborate with business users to understand functional requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance of programs on the iSeries architecture.

- Handle integrations using XML, FTP, SFTP, DDM, and Web Services.

- Maintain code quality and follow AS/400 development best practices.

- Support production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and ensure system stability.

Must-Have Skills :

- Strong and proven experience in RPG, RPG-ILE, SQLRPGLE, RPG III, RPG IV, RPG Free, and CL programming.

- Deep understanding of DB2 Database, DDS, and iSeries architecture.

- Experience with AS/400 environments, DDM, and IBM i tools.

- Ability to write efficient, clean, and scalable code.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Solid knowledge of how software and hardware components interact to solve business problems.

Good to Have :

- EDI knowledge or experience working on EDI integrations.

- Exposure to enterprise-level AS400 modernization initiatives.
