Job Description

Position Title : Robotics Systems & Automation Engineer

Experience Level : 3 to 6 Years

Department : Robotics & Automation R&D / Systems Engineering

Role Summary :

We are seeking a versatile Robotics Engineer to join our multidisciplinary R&D team. In this role, you will lead the integration of robotic motion control, perception systems, and hardware-in-the-loop testing for our next-generation automated systems. You will bridge low-level control algorithms with mechanical actuators, computer vision/optical sensors, and high-level autonomous navigation. Working alongside mechanical, embedded software, and optical engineers, you will take autonomous systems from concept and prototyping through lab bring-up, field validation, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities :

- System Integration & Control : Design, implement, and optimize real-time control algorithms (PID, kinematics, motion planning) for robotic arms, gantry systems, or autonomous mobile platforms.

- Sensor Integration & Perception : Integrate and calibrate sensors including 2D/3D cameras, LiDAR, optical encoders, IMUs, and force-torque sensors to enable closed-loop perception and navigation.

- Software Development : Write, test, and maintain robust, modular C++ and Python packages utilizing ROS/ROS2 (Robot Operating System) or RTOS for robot navigation, state estimation, and path planning.

- Prototyping & Lab Bring-Up : Conduct hands-on assembly, wiring validation, board bring-up, and mechanical-electrical debugging of robotic prototypes.

- Simulation & Verification : Build digital-twin simulations (using Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or Webots) to test motion trajectories and collision avoidance before deploying code to physical hardware.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with mechanical engineers on chassis/end-effector design, electronics teams on PCB interfaces, and optical teams to ensure precision vision alignment.

Requirements & Qualifications :

Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.

Experience : 3 to 6 years of hands-on industry experience building, programming, and deploying robotic or automated hardware systems.

Core Technical Skills :

- Strong programming proficiency in C++ and Python within a Linux desktop/embedded environment.

- Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 framework architecture (nodes, services, action servers, URDF).

- Deep understanding of forward/inverse kinematics, trajectory generation, dynamics, and motor drive interfaces (CANopen, EtherCAT, Modbus).

- Working knowledge of computer vision libraries (OpenCV, PCL) for spatial perception and coordinate transformations.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working with high-precision optical sensors, laser positioning, or vision guided robotics.

- Familiarity with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) or Kalman filtering techniques.

- Experience with ISO 10218 / ISO 15066 safety standards for industrial or collaborative robots (cobots).
