Job Description

Job Description:

Senior Unity Engineer (Product)

Role Type: Contract to Hire (6 months) then Full-time based on Performance

Work Location: Remote

At Red Elk Studios, we are building Anthelion, a next-generation AI-powered QA automation platform purpose-built for mobile game studios.

Anthelion accelerates testing, improves release quality, and reduces operational QA costs through intelligent automation systems designed specifically for the complexity of live mobile games. The platform combines AI-assisted test creation, self-healing automation flows, smart test prioritization, gameplay telemetry analysis, embedded engine SDKs, and cross-platform device orchestration to deliver scalable, end-to-end automation across Android and iOS environments. By integrating deeply into real production pipelines, Anthelion enables studios to move faster while maintaining stability across devices, content updates, and live operations.

We are looking for a Senior Unity Engineer to become a key technical leader and customer-facing engineering partner for the platform helping define how next-generation game automation is implemented across the industry. This role goes beyond traditional Unity development and sits at the intersection of game engineering, automation systems, technical consulting, and product innovation.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Unity Engineer, you will own the critical engineering layer that connects Anthelion to real-world game production environments. You will design, build, and maintain a growing library of reference game implementations that validate and showcase the platforms automation capabilities across diverse gameplay systems, genres, SDK integrations, and live-service scenarios. You will work directly with partner studios during onboarding and integration, collaborating closely with their Engineers, QA Leads, Automation Engineers, Technical Directors, and Producers to help operationalize automation within active development pipelines.

In parallel, you will act as a strategic bridge between customers and the core platform Engineering team translating real production challenges, integration friction points, and emerging studio requirements into clear, scalable, and implementable technical specifications. Your insights from live customer environments will directly influence platform architecture, SDK evolution, automation workflows, and future product capabilities, making this role foundational to the growth and technical direction of Anthelion.

Key Responsibilities:

Reference App Development:

- Build and maintain a library of Unity reference games that demonstrate the full range of test scenarios the platform supports, ensuring each capability has a working reference implementation.

Customer Onboarding & Solutions Support:

- Lead technical onboarding for new customer studios. Work directly with their Engineers, QA Leads, Automation Engineers, and Producers to integrate the platform into their game projects and AI-driven test pipelines.

Gameplay Automation Consulting:

- Partner with customers to understand their gameplay-specific automation needs and recommend test design strategies including command sequencing and scripting approaches that fit each games architecture.

Requirements Specification:

- Translate observations from reference app work and customer engagements into clear, implementable specifications for the core Engineering team. Champion features that unlock new categories of testable game systems, including networked and multiplayer gameplay.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

- Work closely with internal Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams. Serve as the trusted technical bridge between external studios and internal roadmap decisions.

Required Qualifications:

- 5+ years of professional Unity development experience, with at least one shipped mobile title.

- Strong C# fundamentals, including reflection, custom serialization, and editor tooling.

- Hands-on experience integrating SDKs, native plugins, or third-party tools into Unity projects.

- Working experience with AI-assisted development tooling (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) as part of your day-to-day engineering workflow.

- Solid understanding of mobile platform fundamentals Android (ADB, build pipelines) and iOS (Xcode, code signing, provisioning).

- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable running technical workshops, writing specifications, and engaging both Engineering and non-Engineering stakeholders.

- Customer-facing or solutions-engineering exposure prior experience supporting external teams or partners directly.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with other game engines that expose runtime object hierarchies, such as Unreal Engine, Godot, or Cocos.

- Multiplayer or networked gameplay experience (Mirror, Netcode for GameObjects, Photon, Unreal Replication, or similar netcode stacks).

- Familiarity with QA automation frameworks such as Appium, AltTester, GameDriver, Poco, or Airtest.

- Experience with cloud device farms (LambdaTest, BrowserStack, AWS Device Farm, Firebase Test Lab).

- CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, fastlane, Unity Cloud Build).

- Scripting experience in Lua or Python for automation use cases.

- Public technical communication track record conference talks, blog posts, OSS contributions, or community presence.

What We Offer:

- Competitive salary & performance-based bonuses

- Health and benefits comparable to the best companies in India

- Ownership and impact on a category-defining product

- Flexible work environment (remote/hybrid)

- Direct exposure to leading game studios and their Engineering teams

- A collaborative and respectful team culture

- Shape the Future of Game Test Automation

If you love building games, validating them through automation, and helping other studios do the same wed love to talk.

Apply now with your resume, portfolio/GitHub (if applicable), and a note on what excites you about building the next generation of game test automation tooling.
