Position Purpose :
The incumbent will drive asset optimization, cost control, and compliance, leveraging industry-standard IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools to maintain an Effective License Position (ELP) and proactively escalate risks to safeguard the organizations IT ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Strategic IT Asset Governance & Lifecycle Management :
- Define and implement a comprehensive IT asset management strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance, optimization, and decommissioning.
- Establish and enforce policies and best practices to maintain asset integrity, security, and financial accountability.
2. Software Asset Management (SAM) & Compliance :
- Maintain a robust Effective License Position (ELP) across all software vendors, ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance.
- Utilize leading SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, ServiceNow SAM, Snow License Manager, IBM ILMT) for license tracking, optimization, and audit preparedness.
- Lead and manage internal and external software license audits, identifying compliance gaps and driving remediation strategies.
- Establish escalation protocols for license compliance violations, ensuring timely resolution and risk mitigation.
- Manager vendor Managed Service for SAM.
3. Hardware Asset Management (HAM) & Optimization :
- Oversee the entire hardware asset lifecycle, ensuring optimal utilization, cost efficiency, and adherence to organizational security policies.
- Implement HAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow HAM, Ivanti ITAM, BMC Helix) for real-time tracking, maintenance, and disposal planning.
- Develop strategies to extend asset lifecycles, reduce capital expenditures, and optimize IT infrastructure investments.
4. Regulatory & Risk Compliance (BFSI RBI Standards) :
- Ensure full compliance with RBI guidelines and BFSI regulatory requirements related to IT asset management.
- Lead regulatory audits, providing transparent and accurate reporting of IT asset inventories, license entitlements, and usage.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, risk, and security teams to align asset management with industry regulations and internal governance frameworks.
5. Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement :
- Lead strategic negotiations with software and hardware vendors, ensuring optimal licensing models and cost-effective agreements.
- Partner with procurement, finance, IT security, and operations to drive value-driven IT asset investments.
- Establish strong governance frameworks for vendor risk management, contract adherence, and performance monitoring.
6. Escalation Management & Continuous Improvement :
- Develop proactive escalation protocols for IT asset non-compliance, ensuring swift corrective actions.
- Drive continuous process improvements, leveraging automation and AI-driven analytics to enhance ITAM efficiency.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in IT asset intelligence, cloud licensing models, and regulatory changes to future-proof the organizations asset strategy.
Qualifications and Experience Requirement :
Qualifications :
- Essential Experience : 15+ years in IT Asset Management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing enterprise-wide IT assets in a BFSI environment. Preferably in a bank.
- Regulatory Expertise : Deep understanding of BFSI RBI regulations, IT security frameworks, and risk management standards.
- Technical Proficiency : Extensive hands-on experience with SAM & HAM tools, including Flexera, ServiceNow, Snow License Manager, IBM ILMT, Ivanti ITAM, and BMC Helix.
- Financial Acumen : Strong background in cost optimization, vendor negotiations, and IT budget management.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management : Proven ability to engage with C-level executives, auditors, regulators, and vendors to drive IT asset governance and compliance.

- ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP) / IT Asset Management Specialist
- Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) / Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)
- ISO 19770 (SAM) Compliance Certification
