Role Summary :

We are looking for a highly experienced Performance Test Lead to spearhead our performance testing initiatives. You will play a critical role in defining and executing performance test strategies, leading testing efforts for large-scale, complex systems, and ensuring optimal system performance and resilience. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in performance tools, cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, scripting, and monitoring, combined with strong leadership skills to mentor and guide testing teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead performance testing engagements, including test planning, design, execution, and reporting for large-scale, distributed systems.

- Define and implement performance testing strategies and methodologies that align with project and business goals.

- Design and develop performance test scripts using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar, tailored for web, API, batch, and mobile applications.

- Identify, generate, and manage dynamic test data sets to support regression and load testing cycles.

- Analyze system architecture involving network layers, web servers, application servers, message queues, NoSQL and SQL databases to identify potential performance bottlenecks.

- Use monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or equivalent for real-time performance monitoring and root cause analysis.

- Hands-on experience with Linux system process monitoring and scripting (Perl, KSH, Bash) for automation and diagnostics.

- Work extensively with cloud infrastructure platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure), leveraging containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipeline integrations for automated performance testing using tools like Jenkins and version control systems (Git).

- Conduct performance tuning, sizing exercises, and system capacity planning based on test outcomes.

- Create detailed performance test reports aligned with KPIs and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

- Develop supportive simulation programs and service stubs to mimic complex backend systems and third-party services.

- Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting best practices in performance testing and quality engineering.

Required Qualifications and Skills :

- 8 to 12 years of experience in performance testing across various domains and technologies.

- Hands-on expertise with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent.

- Strong knowledge of system components including network protocols, DNS, application servers, messaging queues, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Proficiency in scripting languages including Perl, KSH, and Bash for automation and system monitoring.

- Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud) and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

- Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and microservices architecture.

- Familiarity with monitoring and APM tools such as Dynatrace and AppDynamics for performance diagnostics.

- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and version control systems like Git.

- Strong analytical skills for test design, code profiling, system tuning, and failure/resiliency testing (failover/recovery).

- Ability to produce clear and concise test documentation, status reports, and KPI dashboards.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
