Medical Software QA / V&V Engineer

We are hiring a Medical Software QA / Verification and Validation Engineer to design, document, execute and maintain testing for regulated medical software. The role covers backend APIs, web applications, cross-platform desktop applications, system integrations and real-world clinical workflows.

This is not an execution-only manual-testing role. The selected candidate must be experienced in writing structured test plans, test cases, test protocols and validation summaries while maintaining clear, audit-ready traceability across requirements, risks, test results and releases.

Key responsibilities :

- Own verification and validation activities for regulated medical software.

- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test protocols, test evidence and validation summaries.

- Ensure test coverage is aligned with intended use, software safety classification and identified risk controls.

- Test Python/FastAPI backend services, including REST APIs, business logic, authentication, authorization, data integrity, error handling and backward compatibility.

- Test React-based web applications, including clinical workflows, role-based access, UI state changes, validations, error conditions and cross-browser behaviour.

- Test Flutter-based desktop and cross-platform applications on Windows and Linux.

- Validate widget, integration, platform-specific, state-persistence and performance-critical workflows.

- Conduct system, integration, end-to-end and regression testing involving backend services, user interfaces and connected devices or systems.

- Validate hospital, OEM and customer-specific configurations, integrations, upgrades and patches.

- Maintain traceability from requirements and risks through test cases, results and release evidence.

- Log defects with clear reproduction steps and support impact assessment, defect verification and root-cause analysis.

- Support internal and external audits, inspections and certification activities.

- Work closely with software engineering, regulatory, quality and clinical stakeholders.

- Escalate or block releases when unresolved defects create unacceptable quality, compliance or patient-safety risk.

Required skills :

- 3 to 7+ years of software QA or software-testing experience.

- Minimum two years of experience in medical software, medical devices or another strongly regulated software environment.

- Demonstrated experience writing test cases and validation documentation, not only executing existing tests.

- Practical experience supporting audits, inspections or product certifications.

- Experience testing Python/FastAPI backend services and REST APIs.

- Experience testing React web applications and Flutter desktop or cross-platform applications.

- Strong understanding of API, UI, integration, system, workflow and regression testing.

- Familiarity with pytest, Postman or similar API-testing tools.

- Experience working in Windows and Linux environments.

- Understanding of client-server software architectures.

- Strong written documentation and defect-reporting skills.

Preferred skills :

- Medical imaging or clinical workflow experience.

- Knowledge of DICOM, PACS, MWL, C-STORE or medical print workflows.

- Experience testing hardware-software integrations.

- Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971.

- ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification.

- IEC 62304, ISO 13485 Internal Auditor, ISO 14971, CE-MDR or CDSCO-related training.
