Role Summary:

As the QA Manager - Digital Banking, you will own the end-to-end QE Strategy, People Management, Process Governance, and Delivery Assurance for Retail Net & Mobile Banking. This includes leading SDETs & QA Engineers, defining the quality roadmap, enabling digital banking reliability, ensuring zero-defect releases, and driving automation maturity across agile squads.

Leadership & People Management:

- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team of SDETs and QA Engineers.

- Drive performance management, competency upliftment, and structured career growth paths.

- Own resource planning, capacity forecasting, squad alignment, and skill - project mapping.

- Drive onboarding, capability building, and cross-training across Mobile, API, Platform, and Payments domains.

- Foster an engineering-driven culture of quality-first mindset, ownership, and accountability.

- Conduct regular skip-level discussions, talent health checks, and retention programs.

- Enable team readiness in newer areas such as AI-in-QE, cloud-native testing, observability, and zero-touch automation.

Strategic QE Governance:

- Define the Quality Engineering roadmap for Digital Banking aligned with business, architecture, and platform goals.

- Establish strong QE governance frameworks covering process, delivery, risk, and quality KPIs.

- Drive Shift-Left initiatives across unit, component, contract, and integration testing.

- Build & govern QE scorecards, dashboards, quality gates, DRE/Defect metrics, and release health indicators.

- Drive continuous improvement programs focusing on efficiency gains, faster release cycles, test optimization, and cost reduction in QE.

- Standardize test processes across squads: Test Strategy, Regression Models, Automation Coverage, RCA, and Risk-Based Testing.

Technical Oversight:

- Provide domain leadership across UPI, Payments, Deposits, Onboarding, Lending, Cards, and Investment journeys.

- Guide the design and implementation of Automation-First testing strategies across Web, Mobile, API, and Microservices.

- Oversee the development of scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and system-level testing.

- Govern adoption of TDD/BDD, contract testing, and service virtualization.

- Strengthen observability using GCP Transaction Logs, Interface Logs, Stackdriver, and monitoring tools.

- Ensure shift-left performance testing, fault injection testing, chaos engineering readiness, and resilience validation.

- Govern best practices for secured test data management, compliance, masking, and PII handling.

- Provide guidance on test architecture, quality patterns, and testability improvements in collaboration with Engineering leads.

Cloud, AI & DevSecOps:

- Drive adoption of AI-led test automation, GitHub Copilot, model-driven testing, and generative test design.

- Introduce AI-based defect prediction, risk scoring, and intelligent regression selection models.

- Strengthen CI/CD pipelines with automated quality gates, continuous testing, and artifact validation.

- Collaborate with DevOps & Security teams to enforce DevSecOps practices during build, deploy, and runtime.

- Introduce cloud-native QA practices for GCP: test execution scaling, logs-based alerts, and chaos validation.

Banking Security, Compliance & Reliability:

- Ensure all QE processes comply with RBI, regulatory, audit, and security guidelines.

- Govern testing for authentication, authorization, encryption, fraud controls, and compliance flows.

- Drive production readiness reviews, release risk assessment, and go-live approvals.

- Ensure high reliability of digital journeys with proactive monitoring and issue identification.

- Own post-production validation, error trend analysis, and defect leakage reduction.

Stakeholder & Delivery Management:

- Work closely with QE Head, Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Architects, and Release Managers.

- Lead cross-functional Defect Triage Meetings, war rooms, release sign-offs, and escalation handling.

- Provide executive-level reporting on quality status, roadmap progress, risks, and investments.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure flawless delivery of high-scale banking journeys.

- Own high-severity incident reviews, RCA governance, and preventive action rollouts.

Tools & Competency Requirements:

- Automation & Frameworks: Python, Selenium, Katalon, EggPlant, Appium, REST Assured, Playwright/Cypress.

- Management & Governance Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, RQM, ADO, Quality Dashboards, Agile Ceremonies.

- Cloud & API: GCP logs, Postman, API Gateway, microservices testing.

- Methodologies: SAFe Agile, TDD/BDD, CI/CD, DevSecOps, Observability-driven QE, Chaos Engineering.
