About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA Lead to drive end-to-end quality assurance initiatives with a strong focus on API Testing, Test Automation, and Backend Validation.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in API automation frameworks, strong ownership in testing processes, and hands-on experience with Karate Framework (Priority 1), along with exposure to Rest Assured or equivalent tools (Priority 2).

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery through robust testing strategies, automation excellence, and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities :

API Testing Ownership :

- Take end-to-end ownership of API testing strategy, planning, execution, and reporting to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of applications.

- Design and execute comprehensive API test cases covering functional, integration, regression, and negative testing scenarios.

Automation Testing :

- Develop, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts using Karate Framework (Priority 1).

- Extend automation capabilities using Rest Assured or similar tools (Priority 2) to improve test coverage and efficiency.

- Ensure automation best practices for maintainability, scalability, and reusability.

SQL & Backend Validation :

- Write and execute complex SQL queries for backend data validation.

- Validate API responses against database records to ensure data consistency and integrity.

BDD & Requirement Validation :

- Work with Cucumber/BDD frameworks for behavior-driven testing and improved requirement traceability.

- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into test scenarios.

Defect Management :

- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects throughout the software development lifecycle.

- Coordinate with development teams to ensure timely defect resolution and retesting.

Continuous Improvement & CI/CD :

- Contribute to enhancement of test strategies, automation frameworks, and QA processes.

- Support CI/CD pipeline integration to enable continuous testing and faster releases.

Cross-functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and QA teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and testing deliverables.

- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong hands-on experience in API Testing and API Automation.

- Expertise in Karate Framework (Priority 1) for automation testing.

- Experience with RestAssured or similar API automation tools (Priority 2).

- Strong knowledge of SQL for backend data validation and integrity checks.

- Exposure to Cucumber / BDD Frameworks.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and CI/CD pipelines.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to independently own testing initiatives and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in automation framework design and optimization.
