Quality Assurance Engineer - Manual/Automation Testing

Key Responsibilities :

Quality Assurance & Testing :

- Analyze business and technical requirements to design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.

- Perform manual testing including functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and UAT support.

- Execute test cases, document results, and log defects with clear reproduction steps and evidence.

- Validate bug fixes and ensure defect resolution aligns with acceptance criteria.

- Ensure adherence to QA processes, standards, and best practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Automation & Tools (Where Applicable) :

- Assist in developing and maintaining test automation scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.

- Execute automated test suites and analyze results to identify failures and quality risks.

- Support continuous testing initiatives within CI/CD pipelines.

Delivery & Consulting Support :

- Work closely with developers, product owners, and delivery managers to ensure quality goals are met.

- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

- Provide accurate test estimates, status updates, and risk assessments to the delivery team.

- Support multiple projects or modules under guidance of senior QA consultants or leads.

Documentation & Reporting :

- Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, test execution reports, and defect metrics.

- Contribute to quality dashboards and release readiness reports.

- Ensure proper version control and traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

Continuous Improvement :

- Identify gaps in testing processes and recommend improvements.

- Stay updated with emerging QA tools, testing methodologies, and industry best practices.

- Actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and internal QA initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC.

- Hands-on experience in manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.

- Basic knowledge of automation testing concepts and tools.

- Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.

- Familiarity with test management tools like TestRail, Zephyr, or similar.

- Basic understanding of SQL for data validation.

- Awareness of API testing using tools such as Postman is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.

- Exposure to Agile / Scrum methodologies.

- Knowledge of performance or security testing is an advantage.

- ISTQB or similar QA certification (preferred but not mandatory)
