About the Role :

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong expertise in Manual Testing and a solid understanding of Automation Testing. This role is primarily focused on Manual Testing with Automation Testing. We are looking for someone who enjoys breaking applications, thinks beyond happy path scenarios, and has excellent analytical and debugging skills.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable testing complex Web and Mobile applications, validating APIs and databases, and working closely with developers to identify the root cause of issues. We also encourage engineers who actively leverage AI tools to improve productivity, accelerate testing activities, and enhance software quality.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform end-to-end Manual Testing of Web and Mobile applications.

- Design, write, review, and maintain comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.

- Execute Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, Sanity, and Exploratory testing.

- Validate application functionality across UI, API, and Database layers.

- Write and execute SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting as part of day-to-day testing activities.

- Perform API testing using tools like Postman or similar.

- Debug issues by analyzing logs, API requests/responses, database records, and application behavior.

- Work closely with developers and product teams to identify root causes and ensure high-quality releases.

- Participate in requirement analysis and identify test scenarios early in the development lifecycle.

- Think beyond the documented requirements and identify edge cases, negative scenarios, and usability issues.

- Contribute to automation efforts wherever applicable.

- Leverage AI tools to improve testing efficiency, generate test ideas, analyze production issues, accelerate root cause analysis, and enhance overall QA productivity.

Required Skills :

- Manual Testing (Primary Requirement)

- Strong experience in Manual Testing with excellent knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle.

- Hands-on experience testing both Web and Mobile applications.

Strong experience in :

- UI Testing

- API Testing

- Database Testing

- Excellent test case design skills with the ability to create effective positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios.

- Strong exploratory testing skills with a mindset to challenge and break the application.

- Good understanding of different testing methodologies and quality assurance best practices.

Database Skills :

- Strong SQL knowledge.

- Ability to write complex SQL queries involving joins, aggregations, subqueries, and data validation.

- Comfortable validating backend data independently during regular testing activities.

Debugging & Analytical Skills :

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to analyze application logs, API traffic, database records, and application behavior to identify the root cause of issues.

- Good understanding of client-server architecture and application workflows.

- Basic understanding of system architecture and High-Level Design (HLD). Deep architectural expertise is not required, but the candidate should understand how different components interact within the system.

Automation :

- Hands on in UI automation.

- Experience with Playwright using TypeScript is a strong advantage.

- Understanding of automation frameworks and scripting concepts is desirable.

- Willingness to contribute to automation initiatives over time.

AI Adoption (Preferred) :

Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar to improve testing productivity.

Ability to use AI for:

- Test case and test data generation.

- Exploratory testing ideas and edge-case identification.

- SQL query generation and optimization.

- API request creation and validation.

- Debugging production issues and performing root cause analysis.

- Writing automation scripts and improving existing test automation.

- Strong understanding of when to rely on AI-generated output and when to validate it through engineering judgment.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Experience :

- 2.5+ years of hands-on experience in Software Testing, with a strong focus on Manual Testing.
